Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time

Hey -I’m new to this forum. Alarmed to see such a long wait time to get an interview in Montreal consulate. I thought it normally takes 30 days to 60 days for the consulate to respond. This is a crazy wait!

Yes, that's why the CC to Interview chart is quite helpful. Usually the wait is 4-6 month. Around the end of fiscal year (Aug/Sep) is a little tricky with the retrogression. Usually the 7-9th day of the month are the days NVC sends out interview letters for the EBs for the upcoming month.

      Priority Date : 29-Sep-2007 

      CC : 01-May-2019

 

Having a older priority date (current)have any impact on schedule for the interview. Any Idea?

The interview will be scheduled each month based solely on CC (also based on VISA category apparently). I heard an earlier priority may lead you to earlier dates in the month. I found the EB interview dates tend to be later in the month though. So you might be looking at mid month.

@IK27, @dnvnlee, How was your interview today?

Our interview(2 children 2 adults) was scheduled at 8AM, and we arrived around 7:20AM. We were the third group in the line.

Surprisingly, there were not many group/ppl for IV interview by the time we left around 8:30AM

 

The questions were more like to verify the info on the system rather than to grill.

 

Finally, we got the verbal approval!

How was your interview? I remember you used to posted on Trackitt in the NVC chat. Glad to see your case has moved along and you weren't effected by the retrogression!

it went well. I was there @ 6:45 AM and was 1st in the line and was all done by 8:30 AM.

Just a bunch of questions of my job. Thats it.

An hour after i left, the status changed to "Issued" but waiting on Administrative Processing. Couple of hours later it changed to Final Processing.

 

I opted for expedite shipping and i will be receiving the passports tomorrow in Edmonton, Alberta.

 

It was pretty quick.

how did you choose expedite shipping? 

Was it when you register your appointment? is there an extra fee?

Once you get the interview letter, there is instructions to register for shipping.

Its $20 per person for expedite.
