Hi @vRace I called the NVC today as we are in the States and wanted to ask the same question, if we can get our medical/blood work done while we wait. They said once we get the interview date, we can call the consulate to see if they'll approve any doctors in the US for the medical exam. Maybe you can call and ask but I'm assuming the same would apply for you, just the location being Vancouver.

I think, IR/CR wait times will be reduced to a matter of hours, kinda like a drive thru... EB applicants, however, will continue telling tales of patience and how their journey was to Mordor... s

But there are US consulate approved doctors in Vancouver(Canada) as well. If you see the list of doctors, there is at least 1 Doc in each big city in Canada.

Getting the medical done in US is totally different story. Not sure about that.

Yup, to be clearer I meant apparently we need to cite our interview date when we make an appointment with the doctor (any country). Pulled the below from the State Gov site should it be helpful. Not sure if anyone on this forum did it differently though. Open to thoughts!

 

 

"Contact one of the designated physicians to arrange your medical exam. Explain that the examination is for an immigrant visa application and give the physician the date of the interview appointment."

Got it.

Coming back to your question. We cannot do the blood work till we get a conformation of interview. We will get a document that we need to take it to the Doc for Medical.

 

My question was regarding the immunization record. Since i don't have it, there is a test (blood work) that can check if i need any more needles to be up to date or not.

I was wondering if i can get the test done before and get some paperwork from the doctor stating i am up to date with my immunization ? and can take it along with me for my Medical.

Yes. In fact, this is the only way. Dr. Zatzman, who I went to for my medical in Toronto will not perform a medical unless he as a completed record of immunization. I'm not sure how other designated doctors deal with missing immunizations. You can show a record of administered shot (or result of blood work showing immunity to that virus in lieu of the shot) as proof.

Congratulations! I actually breathed a sigh of relief for you. Lol. 

 

I see one person had his/hers last week and a few people have theirs this week.  Maybe direct your questions to them?
