Hello! Does anyone know anything about current EB1 wait times in Montreal?

I have been waiting for my appointment date since April 2018 and my completed application was submitted December 2017.

Thank you!

Gosh, I hope you get your interview soon... I would call the NVC hotline to check in

Hi all, as I prepare for the interview, can someone tell me the format of the offer letter? Does it have to be this several pages of offer letter that we received when I first accepted this role or can it be an employment letter stating title, name, salary, job tasks, etc. And that I will still have this role upon my return?

If someone has a format please let me know.

Hi all,

Can anyone shed some light to the format of the job offer letter requirement? @vnca @kapen @Shaki @ascb

@bkbk8, my interview is also coming up in March and I dont have the job offer letter requirement but what i know is that it must issued by your employer within the 30 days of your interview and should show your title etc

If your employer has done GC for some of its employees in the past, the letter should not be new to them. I have requested a letter from the company lawyer too asking for it to be dated within 30 days.

THIS IS A QUESTION FOR OTHERS WHO HAVE COMPLETED THEIR INTERVIEW BUT NO ONE IS RESPONDING ON THIS???

HOW SOON DO YOU GET YOUR PASSPORT BACK AFTER THE INTERVIEW? I REALLY NEED TO KNOW SO I CAN PLAN WHEN TO TRAVEL BACK, THOUGH CONSULATE HAS STATED CLEARLY IT MIGHT TAKE TWO WEEKS BUT THIS FORUM HAS BEEN A SOURCE OF HELP FROM OTHERS THAN NVC, MTL CONSULATE ETC, REASON AM ASKING FOR SOME ANSWERS HERE.

THANK YOU

Hi All,

Once you are approved during your interview, they will issue passport back in 2 days. In my case, I had my interview on 15th Feb, which is on Friday and same day ceac status was changed to issued. But they couriered my document on next working day ie, Tuesday 19th Feb. and I picked it up in windsor post office on Thursday.  So it took only three working days altogether. But unfortunately, My spouse is dependent, who works in USA on H1b visa. His status did not change from ready to issued until yesterday, 27th Feb. Still we are waiting for his passport to be couriered.

But I heard in many cases they return your passport in two to three days. If you pick up from Montreal it may be 2 days. Canmon had his interview on Tuesday and picked the visa documents on Thursday in Montreal.

Hope this helps

Hi BKBK8,

I think the offer letter should be issued within a month before your interview and be notarized and it can be either one or two pages or several pages, with title, role, salary, job location etc. My employer offered a new offer letter before the interview.

Anyone know when they usually send out the interview email during the month? My friend has case completed in Feb last year (2018) and she is still waiting, she is on EB2, this scares the out of me of how slow this Montreal visa office is. Her lawyer has been contacting NVC almost every week but could not get any details other than we do not know when it will be scheduled. Is it true that Montreal EB visa wait time is over 12 months or is this just special case??? I am giving up hope to have the interview this year already now that these people still waiting. It is so unfair some other visa office is so fast and schedule within a month but Montreal which is the only one in Canada processing immigration visa is that slow!

This is definitely an exception. Marriage based cases are 3 months from CC to interview, and employment based 4-6 months based on data on this site. Your friend has been waiting for a year, which is definitely an outlier so I would have the lawyer reach out to see what the issue is. All the best!
