Totally fair, I agree with this two cents haha. thanks again :)

Yeah, you're very welcome. Just to want to share my insights and to relieve depression as I totally feel the anxiety of waiting so long.

Below assumption is based on VB stays the same and won't advance for next couple months.

I see the tracking sheet that F2B DQ'ed in Nov. 2020 got IL. My friend DQ‘ed in Apr. 2021 is not eligible for IL. So, there should be around 4 - 5 months of DQ F2B cases to go; maybe the other FB categories follow similar pattern. Conservatively speaking, if the post process 2 months of DQ FB cases per month, FB backlog should be cleared at most 3 months. However, that's just my own option. Hopefully it's true! 😁

@CanadianMD btw, have you found a way to move to the US yet? I think you mentioned you contemplating moving there then do an AOS?

Yes, I am moving under the O1-A visa, and will do AOS in a few months. The process is much faster, given that I already have an approved I-140.

All the best! I also have a similar AOS application in progress based off an already approved I-140 via my spouse. The shortest processing center I could find for AOS (I-485) is 23 months. Curious to see if the USCIS page is unreliable or is there something else I’m missing. As mentioned earlier, I’m on an edge case where I’m a able to have consular processing and AOS run in parallel thanks for my spouse’s application being put in at the same time. At this time to me it looks like consular is leading, as ironic as it sounds!

Hmm I don't think that's the right time frame. Many AOS cases I have seen are in the range of 6-9 months. Assuming non-concurrent filing of AOS after an I-140 approval. How long has it been since you applied for AOS?

Are you looking at Employment Based AOS? I used that link and saw

Denver = 13 months

Des Moines = 12 months

Jacksonville = 14 months

Yes, for Employment Based. And my understanding is that only the 4 major USCIS service centers can be used for EB I-485s (California, Nebraska, Texas, Vermont). As in we cannot pick and choose, it gets assigned based on state. Maybe I heard that wrong.

@CanadianMD From the USCIS website:

The chart below shows which USCIS service centers currently process each type of form.”

I use Trackitt.com, which relies on user self-reported posting. I believe if you have an approved I-140, your case will go to NBC most likely. Although I am sure that Texas and Nebraska both approve them too, majority of cases are via NBC.

Nice! Yup I hope that’s indeed the case, which would be cool! My AOS filing is only a few weeks old so there’s still a long way to go. 6-9 months sounds pretty neat! *secretly hoping MTL issues three months worth of ILs soon and gets me in!*

Regardless, it is definitely faster than the 28 months wait time at Montreal right now. Absolutely disgraceful.

I follow Jim Hacking (immigration attorney), and he famously says that the Processing times as posted on USCIS website are meaningless…

I have found self reported data like @CanadianMD has posted to be more indicative of true timelines.

@CanadianMDAre there any issues with this as the O1-A is not designed as a dual intent visa?  I would also qualify as I have already proved this with the I-140 as well.

As far as I know the bar for O1A and EB1a is essentially the same, so easy to demonstrate you meet the threshold already if you have an approved EB1a I-140, and yes, all O visas are dual intent, just another set of $$$ and time spent...

My EB1-b got denied, at Nebraska during the Trump years, otherwise would have been a slam dunk of a case as I was told by the lawyers, so settled for EB2-NIW, at Texas.
