If I were you, I would redo all the PCC (I redid mine even though I've not backed to my home country since Mar. 2019). Just to be safe, if the Officer is picky, you'll have a backup plan...

As per NVC criteria, Civil Documents (state.gov)

Let me know if you've further questions.

It is unpredictable and may move even faster based on the interview slots available. For instance, Mumbai, India consulate sent IL to several months people together and interviews are  already reached early months of 2021. My friend got IL last month whose DQ was Dec 2020

Wow this is amazing!!!! Sooooo incredibly close! DQ date is March 1, 2020. Fingers crossed @Sorrel and I receive our ILs by the end of this month! Does anybody know if I can or should start the process of getting another RCMP certificate now since it has taken really long for others?

Yes, definitely get your new RCMP certificate asap.  We had ours redone last month in Toronto and it was super quick - it arrive exactly a week after we went in for fingerprinting.  But I think others have said it has taken 2-3 weeks for them.  Fingers and toes crossed for us all for the next round of ILs!!!

Yes absolutely! Did you go to local police station for the fingerprinting?

Is there an archive of the embassy updates from previous months? I am a little surprised that they suddenly jumped from Nov 2019 to Feb 2020.

Does that mean in Feb 2022 they sent out letters for all 3 months, and they have not yet sent March 2022 letters for April interviews?

Just wanted to get a sense of timeline and checklist for everyone doing an interview.

~2 weeks before date, get medical examination

Make sure you have a new rcmp certificate if it's been more than 2 years like it has for most of us

Attend interview

7-10 business days after receive passport and immigration packet?

So the total timeline which I need to be in Canada is almost 1 month?

Doing your medicals 2 weeks before the interview is cutting it too close. Try for 4 weeks…

When you get your stamped passport back after the interview depends on so many factors beyond your control, you can’t really estimate.

First, you have to get approved at the interview. If you are handed a 221G it could mean a delay of upto 2-3 months. If you are issued a DS-5535, it is an indefinite wait of 45 days to 4 years.

I would not make plans to move out of Canada until one has their stamped passport back in their hand.

But just to give you an idea of best case scenario - I had my interview on Dec 8, was approved and status changed to Issued- AP. On Dec 9 that changed to Issued-FP. On Dec 10, I got my tracking number and got my passport in hand on Dec 14. (That is the fastest that one can expect).

Those sound like nightmare scenarios. I am already working in the US so any delay seems untenable. There's no way I'd be able to come back to Canada a month in advance for a medical. Not to mention it looks like the consulate gives interview letters about a month before the date, so there's not much time to schedule a medical exam in either scenario.

This really makes me question why my company was so adamant that consular processing would be fine...

Hi @corg What is your DQ date?

April 2020, so it's coming up and I am pretty sure I can't afford to spend a month in Canada unless my employer is completely okay with me being remote.

Any idea when the interview letters are generally sent? Looking at the Google doc it seems like it's about 7-10 days after the consular update is posted
