If you misssed it, here is the latest video update from US consulate in Montreal for immigrants visa applicants.

It's exciting to hear that they are increasingly the capacity to process immigrants visa applications. We will need to wait and watch how this will impact processing times and reduce backlogs.

It’ll be interesting to see what ILs go out in October and if anyone here will get one!

Hoping the IL letters go out early in the month, because there are many days in November and December when interviews will not be scheduled due to holidays.  The video also indicated that the main focus is still on Tier 's but we have been waiting longer than any other group!

Hi all,

Unfortunately NVC changed my DQ date from July 2019 to July 2021 because I transferred my case from India to Canada (I had to do that since I started school in Canada). So, now I am in the back of the line after waiting for more than 2 years. I tried everything possible to convince the NVC, but seems like I have hit a wall with them. Hence for future I strongly advice anyone to not change a consulate.

Thanks

Really sorry to hear that. Hopefully the wait won't be very long.

I'm really hopeful that a lot of the applicants on the excel sheet will get interviews in this first round. I'll be disappointed if only a a few folks gets interviews from our list. Only a couple of weeks until we find out!!

Maybe the IL's will go out early this month!  Here's hoping!  Compared to other Tier's there are not that many applicants based on 2020 statistics, so maybe they can cover at least three months for the first round.

Hi,

Can’t find an answer online, while waiting for the interview, will it be a problem if I will travel to another country? What is the procedure to do it?

Thank you!

I am in similar boat. As far as I understand, you will need to get the PCC of that country. In my case, I was born in India and when I submitted my docs to NVC, I submitted India's PCC. Now if I travel again, I will have to get the PCC re-issued. Other than this, I couldn't find any other issue.

If you have never been to the country u are travelling to and visiting for less that 8 month, you don't need to do anything.

Does the CEAC account always say READY TO BE SCHEDULED FOR INTERVIEW,  before the ILs go out?

Mine says “at NVC” when I pull up my case status.  Just got the 60 day check-in email from NVC saying I’m still in line for an interview.  ☹️☹️

I just checked my status shows as at "NVC" too. @Sorrel Hoping this is a leading indicator for folks who will be getting an interview letter this month. Spreadsheet says that your DQ date is March 2020? That would be a significant movement if this assumption is accurate. Fingers crossed!
