Bringing Family Member/Friend to K1 London Interview

Hi All,

 

I know I've read about this somewhere before but now I can't find any threads on it. My fiancee wanted to see if her brother could join her for the K-1 interview process and sit in the waiting room. Does anyone know if he has to be cleared in advance or is no one else allowed in?

Why would he want to go in? Even if he could, he'd just be sitting in a waiting room like being at the doctors. I can't imagine a more boring way to spend a day.

Agreed. It isn't a social gathering, it is an interview between the beneficiary and an officer for immigration. The brother can come along for support but he definitely won't be involved with the interview process. He may not even be let inside the building.

Embassies are picky.  Non citizens can't get in without an appointment. They won't let him in at all.

The Consulate has moved but there was a US spouse when I was interviewed attending. Slightly different obviously, but pretty sure that had to be agreed to and have an invite in advance.

The website says:

 

Please provide the date of the appointment and the name of your U.S. citizen spouse or fiance(e) and arrangements will be made for them to be admitted to the Embassy.  They will be required to bring with them photo-id for presentation to Embassy personnel.  Children not applying for visas may accompany you also. If 12 or over, we will require their name and they will require photo-id. Please provide the required information through our contact form.

When completing the form,  please include your case number (e.g. LND2013XXXXXX). Failure to do so will delay our response.

the US embassy wont let anybody w/o an appointment in. I was the petitioner going with my fiance at the time (now wife) and they only let me in after checking if I (US Citizen ) was allowed.
