Yes you can apply. Whether or not you qualify for the visa is another issue. The CO will assess your ties to to return home. Best wishes and good luck.

F2A is currently taking about 2 years for the PD to become current, then NVC + embassy processing.

Security checks from Pakistan are known to sometimes be quite extended. There's no way to speed that up...it's just a process you have to wait through.

USCIS will send the I-130 to NVC after it is approved. Usually this occurs well before the PD is current. It will then sit at NVC until the PD becomes current, then NVC processing will progress (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process).

Technically you can expedite the I-130 processing with a valid reason (https://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria). However, it is impossible to expedite the PD. The PD is the limiting factor here, so an expedite of the I-130 would not have any benefit.

If your PD becomes current and then you need an expedite at NVC or the embassy, you can reach out to them directly at that time to make a request.

If your case does get stuck in Administrative Processing (i.e. for security checks), you just have to wait that out...there's no way to expedite it.

Yes, the waiting can be difficult. Please understand that you are not alone in this. Nearly all applicants have to wait while being separated by their loved ones. It is a difficult thing but you can get passed it.

Please look at the visa bulletin and keep checking it. Looks like you still have a year to go.

You can apply for a tourist visa but like said, there is no way to know if you will get it. Unfortunately, there is nothing more you can do but wait. Waiting is part of the process.

I know love & I pray that everyone will get their visas soon! What should we need to do once our pd becomes current ? And is it possible that your pd becomes current even without getting your noa2? Just wondering

If the I-130 is already approved and the PD becomes current, you can proceed with NVC processing. They should send a welcome letter, but otherwise you can follow the NVC process wiki in the link above.

It is possible for the PD to become current before the I-130 is approved. If so, you have to wait until the I-130 is approved before your case can proceed. It would very likely be outside normal processing times, so you can make a case inquiry with USCIS (or via a congressperson) at that time.

This is pretty uncommon, though...usually the I-130 is approved at least a few to several months before the PD becomes current.
