Hello all,

First, I would like to start my post by expressing my sincere gratitude towards Visa Journey and its contributors as the forums have been a great source of support all along my immigration journey.

I am proud to announce that I became a US citizen and received my certificate of Naturalization during my Oath Ceremony on the 11th of May of this year. I am super thrilled about it and already went through the whole status update process with the Social Security administration, got myself a passport and even registered to vote. Everything went smoothly. As I am relieved to finally be done with my immigration process, I am a little curious to know why my online case does not show that I am fully done and that no more action is required from me.

As a matter of fact, my account got updated 2 days after my Oath Ceremony, on the 14th of May, saying:

"On May 14, 2018, we issued your Certificate of Naturalization for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number #############. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

Why would I have to inform the USCIS about any change of address if I am finally a US citizen? Any similar experience?

Am I supposed to expect another update where I am told that no more action is required from me?

Thank you very much in advance for your input.

First, Congratulations!!! I wouldn't worry about the online sistem of USCIS. It is off on all updates and I no longer rely on it, except for official notices by snail mail.  You have a naturalization certificate, you have your US-passport, IMO you don't need to inform USCIS about your new address. You are free to go and live your life freely of filing AR-11.  I didnt even follow my naturalization after i got my certificate.

Thank you Rusty72 for sharing your similar status and congratulations on your citizenship!

I don't plan to move anytime soon neither. I received the notifications as well and was really hoping to read something like: "we don't need anything from you anymore, no action is required from you and your are free to go". B-)

Oh well, not life threatening, let's move on with our life as US citizens now! :D

They're telling you to update your address so that you get your certificate if you move before you receive it.  That's all.

USCIS does not send the original Certificate of Naturalization by mail unlike the Green Card for example, they give it in hand at the Oath ceremony. They warn you to be extremely careful with it so you don't lose it, damage it, do not laminate it, otherwise, it will cost you a lot $$$$ and many months of wait if you request a replacement.

Good news well then probably just a generic add on then.
