Can I have my interview out of my state?

I live in the state of Massachusetts near the border with New York. My local office is in Lawrence, MA, which is over 3 hours away. But the Albany, NY office is less than a 40 min ride away. Is it possible to request that my case be processed there even tho it is out of my state?

If your husband is US citizen, don't worry about your status.

09.2015 - Green Card received.

01.08.2018 - RoC approved.

Did you have your biometrics yet? USCIS will normally assign nearest field office as your field office even if it is in another state.

There is a field office locator on uscis.gov - type in your zip code and see what comes up. 

 

I lived on border Indiana/Illinois Chicago area and dealt with Chicago field office and ASC for both ROC and naturalization. The Indiana office was 3 hrs away.
