I am just about to mail my I-751 packet in. Where do you go for biometrics? The main city office or can you go to a local sub-office? I am in Los Angeles and wondering if I need to trek into the main office downtown.

We do not have our appointment yet, but I am guessing that it will be at the local field office. We hope to find out soon!

richie,

You need to trek to the nearest Application Support Center, which may or may not be at the same location as the main office downtown.

Check the ASC locations on the USCIS web site.

just type in your Zip code and it will list the Application Support Centers nearest you....

it will say on your biometrics appointment letter where you should go...

Minor clarification. It'll list the ASC that serves your area. That may or may not be the one nearest you (for us, the one that serves our area is about 40 miles away, but there's another one ten miles away that doesn't serve our zip code).

But yes, search that link or wait for your NOA, and it'll tell you what ASC will take your biometrics.

The ASC that came up when I typed in my zip code is not the ASC in our biometrics notice. The zip code ASC is the one closest to us, but they are sending to us to another ASC that's only a couple of miles more distant in the other direction.

Meh
