When it comes to politics and world events I don't always see accurately how events are related or not. It seems to me, at first glance, that this news below would mean some for us who are waiting for Casa. It wouldn't be the first time I grasped at straws... I guess the question is, does it only seem like they got everyone they know about? Maybe I'm extrapolating inaccurately. Wishful thinking, ya know?

No more bombers = consulate safe = consulate reopening, which is what we all want. I'm asking because I know I could be offbase with this. Maybe it just means they hope there will be no new bombers, just whoever is still there uncaught?

Network recruiting terrorists for Al Qaeda liquidated in Morocco

07.05.2007, 10.25

RABAT, May 7 (Itar-Tass) - Moroccan security forces have exposed a criminal network of 20 people that engaged in the recruitment of terrorists for the “Al Qaeda organisation in the Islamic Maghrib countries.” The arrested group members are also suspected of making attempts to recruit volunteers for the Iraq war.

The official Moroccan news agency MAP reported on Sunday that Moroccans that were members of the “Al Qaeda organisation in the Islamic Maghrib countries” that had earlier been named “Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat” have been arrested in several cities of the country.

In late January this year, the Salafist Group announced changing its name. It was said in a statement of its leaders that the group got Osama bin Laden’s consent for renaming.

On April 10 this year, three suicide bombers linked with this organisation exploded themselves during a police raid in Casablanca. Another suicide bomber was killed in a shootout. One policeman was killed in the raid and one wounded, and about 20 peaceful civilians hurt.

On April 14, two terrorists blew themselves up in Casablanca not far from the American centre for the study of foreign languages and the American consulate. The suicide bombers were killed in the blasts and several people injured. On the same day, police detained the head of the terrorist cell that claimed responsibility for the Casablanca explosions, including for the March 11 blast in an Internet cafe as a result of which the terrorist died and several people were injured.

If I cause offense it is not on purpose, think about that before you take offense. If you feel offended, consider that maybe I'm not talking about you and maybe I accidentally stumbled onto a sore area and do not know. Thank you.
