I need some advice

me and my fiancée she lives in USA and I live in the UK got our noa2 approval but waiting for the interview I’ll be the one moving to the USA

while I was visiting in the USA we help a fake wedding ceremony type party due to the fact we spent a lot of money on it so thought it be all good to celebrate our love but not be officially married we just wanted the party we dreamed of so went ahead with it just told people what it was and wore a white dress and suit

do you think there will be any issues with us doing any of this as we are not legally married just wanted the party and played the part to share our love with everyone

i want to be 100% honest and upfront

Don't post photos or mention this, otherwise they can suspect you are actually married and deny the visa, even though  you are not. There's been some stories on here about it I believe.

It's this weird "too married" for K-1, but not married enough for CR-1 thing.

Sounds silly to me too, but there's been several threads about it here.

Keep the pictures off of social media and have your friends do the same. There have been cases on here in the past where people have done this and got denied because the CO assumed they got married.

Ok thanks will do but ignore they ask I will tell themwhat we did and explain to them everything if they deny us it be ridiculous as we are a genuine couple and want to do everything legal

it was just we would have lost a lot of money if we didn’t have the party.

We can prove we are not married too if that’s the case.

What we are saying is that you don't show them those pictures at all so that way you don't have to tell them. I never advocate for lying at all but it's simply don't tell them and they won't ask about it. You can explain all you want but to them it will be like you already got married and they will deny you. What religion is this btw?

Why would you have lost alot of money?

We would be cristians and to be married in America you need to file for a marriage certificate and have someone officially marry you so can’t see how they think it be legally binding.

Having any kind of ceremony that looks like a wedding can be problematic if an IO or CO finds out about it. People have been denied for this and it has been repeated many times not to risk it.

Now that that door has passed, it's just a matter of whether they find out about it (assuming the party truly was not legally binding). You don't have to disclose the event unless they ask about it. You'll probably be perfectly fine. There is a risk of being denied...that's just the reality of the situation now.

Proving a negative is quite difficult. What exactly would prove you never got married but just didn't register it?

And honestly, they likely won't spend the time to review it.

It's your choice but for a visa success DO NOT be stubborn about it, do not show them any picture and do not say anything about your fake wedding, you will never be able to convince them. What they say there is final.

Since it was not official then do not speak about it or show them any picture about it. Else you will be denied instantly and might even be banned from applying again.

If you don't want to lie to the CO in the first place then i see no reason why you should have done a fake wedding to lie to friends and family. Don't sit on the fence, you either inside or outside.

Goodluck buddy!

I have a few friends who are wedding officiants. They dont have to do things officially. I myself will have one do the legal marriage when my fiance gets here on her K1. Then I will use him again for the big wedding that is planned later. Just saying that they dont have to be official here either. But I imagine you did yours for friends and family there so they wouldn't need to travel to the US for it.
