When I had my k1 medical in London, they told me I was missing 1 shot (2nd dose of MMR). I opted to get it done while I’m in the USA. I’m currently in the USA with my fiancé and I believe to get shots for this purpose you have to visit a US civil surgeon? I called the local one today and they said they don’t have vaccines and that I’d have to visit the local health department to get it. Is this correct? I’m really unsure of the process for this. Any help would be great. Thanks

If you are already in the USA and have used your K1 visa to enter, then you will need to get this vaccination here.  Along with that, you are going to have to submit a I-693 filled out and signed by a Civil Surgeon when you start the AOS process.  However, it can be very difficult sometimes to find a Civil Surgeon who understand the rules for K-1 applicants in that you don't need to do a whole new medical if you start the AOS process within 1 year of your K-1 medical.  It took us multiple phone calls to finally find a Civil Surgeon who understood that we just needed the vaccination information completed and updated on the I-693 and we ended up having to travel to a Civil Surgeon about 2 hours away to take care of this.  Most Civil Surgeons don't understand the K-1 process and will try to tell you that you need to do a whole new medical.  When my partner had to get additional vaccinations, we did them at a local doctor covered by my insurance before we went to see the Civil Surgeon and then the Civil Surgeon check the vaccination records we brought and completed the I-693.  I would think most Civil Surgeons would have vaccines on site and could administer them for you but it's possible that you found one that does not do this and you need to get it elsewhere.

There is an existing topic on the forums which list Civil Surgeons who understand the process and won't try to make you do a new medical which you can find here:

If you had one dose of MMR, before your medical, your second dose should be waived on your DS3025 for 'insufficient time arrival'. That means you are not required to obtain the second dose. As you know, the MMR is a two dose jab, and must be spaced many weeks apart, so sometimes it does happen. See the info listed here regarding vaccinations

Have you had your interview yet, have you obtained your K1 visa and are now with your spouse in the US? The I-693 is not a requirement for the AOS process, unless it is expressly asked for by the USCIS, if for some reason they deem a copy of the DS3025 insufficient or they lose the form. If they should, you will need to go to a US civil surgeon to recertify the vaccination portion ONLY (you are not required to have a new medical and you MUST find a civil surgeon who will ONLY do that service for you).

If you haven't had your interview yet or obtained your K1, then it's really entirely up to you what you want to do. If you want the second dose and really want to ensure the form is 'complete' (and that's fine as MMR is surging back in the US and not everyone from the UK are properly protected) you have a few options. If you're heading back to the UK for your interview you can get the shot via your GP or you could go to a pharmacy like Boots. You must bring the proof of obtaining into the US with you.

If you're now in the US for good, then there's actually lots of ways to obtain the shot. You can go to your local Walmart, Walgreens, or just about any pharmacy in the US. Or you can go to a health clinic. Or you can, as I said, do nothing and see what happens. The rules are the rules, but that doesn't always mean the USCIS officer will understand them.

For more info on the perils of vaccinations and navigating Knightsbridge and the USCIS I'd recommend all UKers go through this lengthy thread.  It's really helpful.

That will depend on the OP's circumstances. If he has his visa now and has moved - he cannot go back to the UK, and he also cannot use the NHS. There's also not much point in him receiving the second dose under the rules, unless it's for his own health benefit or the USCIS officer doesn't understand their own rules.
