N400 while I751 pending

Hi I just joined this website I have one question please I filed for I751 I received letter that gives me 1 year extension I was married 3 years ago Can I apply for N400 while my I751 still pending or I have to wait for 10 year green card firat and then only apply for citizenship?

You can perfectly file your N 400 with a pending I-751 when your window opens 90 days prior to your 3rd anniversary of being a permanent resident as of the “resident since” date in your conditional resident card. You should be mindful that if you do so there’s a great chance the service center which handles your I-751 won’t have jurisdiction over it again, and will transfer it to your local USCIS field office to be adjudicated together as a combo interview in the same day as your N 400 interview. The main advantage of doing so is if citizenship is your end goal it will give you a go ahead in terms of processing time, rather than wait for I-751 to be adjudicated several months down the road before beginning the N 400 process. The set back is as it gets tied with your N 400 you’ll have to get an I-551 stamp on your passport as evidence of residency until you get your citizenship.
