Roger Stone sought information on Clinton from Assange, emails show

Former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone privately sought information he considered damaging to Hillary Clinton from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to emails reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

The emails could raise new questions about Mr. Stone’s testimony before the House Intelligence Committee in September, in which he said he “merely wanted confirmation” from an acquaintance that Mr. Assange had information about Mrs. Clinton, according to a portion of the transcript that was made public.

In a Sept. 18, 2016, message, Mr. Stone urged an acquaintance who knew Mr. Assange to ask the WikiLeaks founder for emails related to Mrs. Clinton’s alleged role in disrupting a purported Libyan peace deal in 2011 when she was secretary of state, referring to her by her initials.

“Please ask Assange for any State or HRC e-mail from August 10 to August 30--particularly on August 20, 2011,” Mr. Stone wrote to Randy Credico, a New York radio personality who had interviewed Mr. Assange several weeks earlier. Mr. Stone, a longtime confidant of Donald Trump, had no formal role in his campaign at the time.

Mr. Credico initially responded to Mr. Stone that what he was requesting would be on WikiLeaks’ website if it existed, according to an email reviewed by the Journal. Mr. Stone, the emails show, replied: “Why do we assume WikiLeaks has released everything they have ???”

All I can say is things are going to get interesting when all the defendants start asking for discovery.

Most things will never get that far.  Mueller and his politicized whatever it is has already screwed up with the entire Russian indictment thinking it would go no where.  Now they are scrambling to avoid discovery and trying to delay any court action.  I think it may end up in dismissal in the end.  Then of course there is Flynn, and the constant delays in wrapping his stuff up.  One thing we do know is there are a lot of lawyers making a lot of money doing nothing.

It seems Mueller's case is so weak even though Flynn pled guilty (to avoid a costly legal battle he couldn't afford on a general's salary) he may still go free in the end. Mueller just wanted to drag these people's names through the mud without actually going to court. It seems he is getting more than he bargained for.

Personally I think they (Mueller’s team) is still trying to blackmail Flynn hence the delays they keep asking for.
