Can my U.S.C. in-laws take some household stuff with them back to the U.S. in a car?

My U.S.C. wife is planning to move back to U.S. ahead of me and our IR1 interview. My U.S.C. in-laws are visiting us soon and my wife wants them to take some of her stuff (clothes, dishes etc.) with them as that'll reduce the amount of stuff we'll have to move later. I am curious if U.S.C. visiting Canada via car are allowed to bring such low-value personal items with them back to the U.S.?

Would CBPA or U.S. border agents give them a hard time about it? If so, what is the proper procedure to take such items with you back to the U.S.?

As @Calicolom said, I have seen similar things like that happen on the show Border Security.

I do not know the specifics as I have never moved from Canada, but I would advise looking over this website: https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html and if you cannot find the information on there then maybe you can contact them through email or something to ask your questions.

Hope this helps!
