Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum but have been lurking especially in regards to the Abu Dhabi Embassy.  My fiancé's petition was sent from NVC to the embassy on 9 Feb 2018.  I've read that it takes 5 to 6 months for us to get any email or correspondence but does anyone have any recent experience with this embassy?  Should we be worried?  I've tried contacting the embassy but nothing.

Thanks in advanced

Have you actually contacted the embassy at all, and is this for a K1 or a CR1? Alittle more information would help. Also please fill out your timeline.

Hi Cyberfx1024,

This is for the K1 visa.  I've tried contacting the embassy by calling but have been told by the customer service team they can not give me any information specific to a case.  If someone had an email, other than the generic one, it would help out as well.  Again I know it can take time but we've received the NVC notice saying they forwarded the information to the embassy on February 9, 2018.  The waiting game is horrible.

Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary??? If you are the petitioner then keep calling until you hear something.

She hasn't received anything either.  I saw on this site that it can take 5-6 months before we hear anything.  I guess it's one of the downsides of this embassy.

Hey Azn1ne,

I don't know if this helps, but we never received an actual packet. We set up my fiance's interview within days of us getting an email from the NVC saying our case had been transferred to the Abu Dhabi Embassy. Last week we did get an email with the required documents, numbers and locations for the medical, and what not to bring to the embassy. That's all we received 2 weeks prior to his upcoming interview. Just start preparing your documents (Affidavit of support, W2s, bank statements, proof of relationship etc.) and wait for that email :)

Also, not sure if this helps, but when I called the NVC to check on the status (if we had received a case number) they told me that ours had been transferred to the electronic cases.

Update-

My lawyer contacted Abu Dhabi Embassy and it seems they sent an email to the wrong address due to typo a month after I received the notice from NVC.  After waiting 5 months and my lawyer contacting them, we received the email with packet information on what to bring.  Our interview is set for next month!

Hi Azn1ne, can you please share how did your lawyer contacted Abu Dhabi Embassy, by phone or email? if by phone, which number did they call?  Since 03 January, my case was forwarded by NVC to Abu Dhabi Embassy.  Thanks to Goldfish_0529 advise,  I tried sending email thru my registered account.  To date, I'm still waiting for response.  I didn't use lawyer, so I have nobody to follow up on my behalf.
