How Reliable are USCIS' Sites for EAD Mailing Updates?

Hi, my EAD card went into "production" on 5/17 and was "approved" on 5/18, but since then there haven't been any updates on whether the card has been mailed or not.

Here's my timeline:

5/17: Card went into production - reported on both egov.uscis.gov (instantly) and myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov (early morning of 5/18)

5/18: Approved - reported only on myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov (early morning of 5/19)

5/21: Received approval letters for EAD & AP in the mail

Looking at historic data on VJ's tracker and some recent cases (case 1, case 2) it appears that -

1 - The card is generally received exactly a week after going into production. For that to happen, in my case the card should have been mailed on 5/21 or 5/22 (today)

2 - There's a delay in updating the online status to "mailed". In the above linked cases, the users received their cards exactly a day after it was reported to be "mailed". USPS isn't that quick, so there must be a delay in USCIS' reporting?

Is my understanding correct? My start date for work is quickly approaching, so getting a little anxious here

Oh, we have the same timeline for EAD! I also looked through and i'm expecting the card to get here sometime next week. I know there's different info on the 2 websites (they even mistakenly marked my AP as denied on one of them, then corrected it the next day). I don't know when you have to fill out your I-9, but technically if your card is produced you have a permit number and you are allowed to work, even if the card is on its way, right? Maybe? :D

I don't think you can work unless you have the card. Not sure though but I doubt that the notice will be enough.

Do you mind sharing your EAD expedite process timeline? I requested my expedite in early May and faxed the evidence on May 4. Nothing ever since -.-

I actually filed Oct 17 but had a typo in my middle name, so i did 4 SRs for typo and then another 2 to expedite, but that was because it exceeded the processing time. An RFIE i got in april delayed it for another 2 weeks and my last expedite was May 3rd.

I am not filing for a renewal. I am filing for a new one. My current one is from my OPT which cannot be renewed.

You can use the live chat function to ask an agent for the tracking number.

My case tracker updated to say they'd shipped it with tracking number 'UNKNOWN' the day after I received my card. They then told me it had been delivered 3 weeks after I had it. So, there's a delay once they say it's being produced and the info isn't helpful. The agent on live chat was very quick to help with the tracking number.
