HiHi All!

I would like to invite my husband uncle from Ghana to visit us in the USA. He will provide, property information for his house and land. He has a child small child that he takes care of, and letter from his employer. Would he need to submit anything else?  For bank statements how far in advance do you have to provide one, two or three years? He only wants to stay for 30 days or less. Also I need to provide any documents to him as well because I am inviting him?

Thank you

The DS-160 is the only thing that your uncle needs to submit.  All the information that the US Embassy needs to approve a visitor visa is on the DS-160.  There is no way to submit any other documents with the DS-160.

An invitation or any documents from you is of no help to him because he needs to show his strong ties to home, not you or the US.

He is free to bring bank statements with him to the interview, but the US Embassy does not have to look at them.

B Visa is a very simple process, nothing for you to do.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I'd suggest 12 months personally. Sometimes people have only provided 3 months. Nobody knows what the CO will want to see in documentation, if any.

No harm taking everything he can carry, most unlikely he will be asked for any of it.

Ok! I wonder would these documents be enough. You never no what to expected dealing with ghana. On the Ds 160 form it does ask about your travel date, should we buy the ticket now or wait until after the interview

The US Government advise not to make any tickets before having the visa in hand.  Having tickets does not help in getting a visa.  The US Embassy will not care that your uncle has tickets.

No one can tell you if those documents will be enough.  It will be up to your uncle's personal circumstances and the particular consular officer that would interview him.
