On the ceac website, should I be putting in the DS-160 confirmation number or my NVC case number to check the status? I've only been using the DS-160 number. I'll definitely get in touch with the NVC, they too can also be a little unresponsive at times. I think I'm gonna call them instead of emailing them, what do you think?

Okay, so I checked the case status using my NVC number (I feel like such an idiot right now 🤦🏿‍♀️) it says "Ready" and it has been ever since April 12th which is the day we received the notice from the NVC when they said they were forwarding the case. Does this mean it should be at the embassy already or is it still waiting to be sent?

Your case number is what you should use to check the status. It's usually KNGXXXXXXXXXX.

Definitely call the NVC if you're still seeing no status.

You're going to https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV and using your case number now? What's the status?

Yup, I went to the ceac website it says "ready" and I called the NVC and was told they do not handle these kinds of cases and that they immediately send them to the embassy electronically when the get it and that was April 12th. I asked the guy what the "Ready" indication meant on the ceac website and he said he wasn't sure and that I should try calling the embassy instead.

The embassy has your case! :D Get to scheduling that K appointment but try to ensure that you can get that medical at least 10 days before. Usually when you apply for the appointment here: https://www.andrewsmemorialhospital.com/usmedical/ it takes about 2-3 business days to get an appointment depending on the workload they have and summer is coming up so try to set the medical first and then set the embassy interview to 10 days after. Best of luck!

Lol it sounds like you talked to someone new maybe but yep your case is at the embassy. "Ready" means that you can officially schedule your interview.

Yayyyy!!! Thank you so much! What should I select on that website when I try registering the interview appointment? Should my fiance call to schedule his medical exam or should we just go to the link you sent us? Do you know if they only do interviews and medical exams on certain days? Sorry for all the questions!

Also I know my timeline shows that I did my medical 8 days before the interview but that's because I took a risk and I was being stubborn since it was on my fiance's birthday and that was the best present I could give him ^_^. I know a few persons who didn't have the medical ready for their interview which put them into an extensive AP. The embassy will still allow you to do the interview but you will be in AP until they receive the medical and review it then they'll issue the visa if you were approved and everything went well.

They no longer accept calls for scheduling the medical. You have to sign up for your appointment on the website by clicking "New U.S. Medical Appointment" at the bottom right. You'll fill out a form and get an automatic email. In about 1-2 business days they will give you the medical appointment details. Interviews are done Mon-Fri but that depends on the availability of the time slot so once a certain amount of people are booked for a date and time it becomes closed and you'll be directed to the next available date and time. It's the same for the medical but they have  a more manual process so an actual person determines your date and time for your appointment. It's no problem btw. Ask away.

OMG thank you SO much, you are a life saver!!! This has been so very helpful for me, I can't thank you enough! I should've asked this a long time ago lol he probably would've been here already 🤦🏿‍♀️. That's so sweet you were able to get approved for your fiancé's birthday, I bet be was so happy! I think the only question I have now is if you ever received the instructions from the embassy and if so, were they mailed or emailed to you?

Nope, I still haven't received the instructions for it. JA embassy is pretty straight forward so I didn't really need it. Have you sent your fiance the I-134 and all the supporting documents already? Just ensure that you bring those documents I posted earlier and that the copy of the birth certificate (must include both top and bottom serial numbers). I also brought an updated letter of intent from each of us (signed and dated) that was done about a month before the interview.

He was very happy when I finally got home from Kingston lol. Also I posted an in depth review of the embassy and my experience in the Jamaica portal: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Jamaica&cty=&dfilter=5

I hope that helps. Also I hate to admit it but yea he would probably have been there already but mistakes happen and we can't go back. I just hope you two are together very soon though.

You should call them - I use to call late, after 10pm EST. Like I said in an earlier post they can confirm if the case was forwarded to the embassy in Ja. and the date ..

Wonderful, thank you so much! I'm going to be attending the interview with him and compiled a packet with the I-134, my tax transcripts, w2s and some updated text messages, pictures, cards, etc and even my bridal shower invitation lol. I can't believe you never got the instructions from them, that's so horrible! I'll check out your review and let you know how things go once we have everything scheduled and have attended the interview. It's great that I was able to talk to you. I can finally take my PTO days at work and go to JA lol. I'll have him make an official photo copy of his birth cert, we have a print out of a picture of it, but I think the photo copy will be better. We already have his police cert and no impediment cert so I think we're all set! Thank you so much for your wishes, I hope we can be together soon too!

Having your fiancee there really helps your case. I'm sure you two will be approved ^_^

Spoiler

After USCIS approves the petition, it is sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC will assign you a case number and send your petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where your fiancé(e) lives.

The NVC will mail/email you a letter when it sends your fiancé(e) case to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Once you receive this letter, inform your fiancé(e) to take the below-listed actions to apply for a K-1 visa and prepare for the interview.

I see that you are OK now.  Good luck!
