@Greenbaum I finalized my medicals today and i was told i have to pay extra for the vaccination but unfortunately my debit card wouldn't go through so the doctor said that it is not a problem, that since it is K1 Visa, i can either get the vaccine shots here in South Africa or i can go get it there in the US that it is not a problem, he is 1 of the 2 doctors that is approved for US medicals in South Africa...

What do you think? Or should i make another appointment for next week and go with cash?

It's better to have them finished there if not you will have additional costs once you arrive in the US and begin your AOS after marriage. Here is why.

If you have them completed there in SA your costs are going to be cheaper than if you had them completed in the US. If you have them completed in the SA the medical examiner will complete your DS-3025 as "complete" which allows you to submit that document with your AOS without having to pay an additional fee to a civil surgeon (CS) to finish the vaccinations and to produce the I-693 form. That service alone will run you $75 to $200 plus.

So yes, by all means get them completed in SA before leaving for the States. Best to go next week, as you have planned, and have them completed. Be sure the medical facility gives you an updated DS-3025 that states everything is "complete". Here is an example of that form https://panelphysician.org/ds3025/.  If you look toward the bottom there is a check box that states "US vaccination requirements COMPLETE (Requesting a Blanket Waiver)" whereupon you want that to be checked.

I hope I have been able to articulate the need for the vaccinations to be completed in your Home Country.

Thank you once again, i have just called them NOT to send my medicals results to the embassy yet as i will be coming first thing Monday morning with raw cash to get all vaccinations, i was told it is not a problem that they will keep it because amendments has to be done if i get the required vaccination, i can't imagine going through all those stresses over there the streets of Los Angeles while i am trying to settle in... My interview is 26th July do you think the medical results will get to the embassy before then? They said it was supposed to be sent on Monday... I will also ask them next week Monday.

Thank you for looking out for all of us here on VJ @Greenbaum i really appreciate!

Congrats! 😊

Well, I can make an interview appointment but I want to make sure my petition is already at the embassy. I do not want to do everything (go to the interview)and have everything held back or rescheduled because the petition will be In Transit mode.. Idk just thinking

Wow that’s different from here. We can’t pick a date here until the embassy has gotten and acknowledged our petition and sent packet 3. Is it free to reschedule there? If it is then it wouldn’t hurt you to pick an anticipated date 😊

I did not see anywhere in my p3 that states i have to come with them. I only see people talking about it on here, would you please shed more light on that one?

I was thinking about that too.. The embassy lets you do it online the biometric n embassy appt as long as u have paid the visa fee, so with the receipt number you are allowed to do so.. And the medical is walk in first come first serve deal. So I will schedule if at any point the petition is still in transit just reschedule 🤔😁

Same here too, once i paid the fee i can reschedule as many times as i like the credit stays there. What date did your status turned to in transit with NVC?

We will be fine, its almost 14 months for us lol it's sick but i know its for the best... 10th, wow that's a long time, they better call you to come for interview the same day they get the petition from NVC :) I am sure they did not send it electronically, ours was sent on the 16th of May and embassy here got it May 17th and then they waited 2 weeks before they contacted me, it is always one of them messing up lol. I will follow you timeline now, i would like to know how it goes for you. :)
