My fiance is coming from Australia.  He is concerned that he won't be allowed through US Customs because he has credit card debt.  He has no intentions on defaulting on the debt.  He is also concerned that if he returns to Australia, that he would be arrested at Customs there for credit card debt.  I have told him that because I signed the Affidavit of Support that they won't care about his finances.  He keeps insisting that they will.  We did not use a lawyer to file.  Anyone have an answer?

@Greenbaum?  @Naes?

There’s nothing like that. Tell him to calm down and continue the process and pay off the debts when he can...

Well, I'm still stuck at NVC after they generated our case number on May 2nd.

We've been under Administrative Processing for almost 8 weeks now. This is exhausting...

@Naes have you seen any case like this, stuck at AP for 2 months even before the case being sent to the embassy?

All I can say is yes I’ve seen one more case. I think it was a May filer, I know the outcome is that they’ve got their visa. But I don’t remember how long they waited overall.

Yes NVC makes checks on k1 cases too mostly it doesn’t go to AP but sometimes there is AP at th NVC stage too. (Pretty rare) there’s not much to explain but that there is a possibility of this, most cases don’t wait that long but it happens.

also there is a possibility of everything, we even see cases that sent back to uscis because something was missed or nvc want additional review to be made. Which is not always bad as I’ve seen a case in Montreal had to go back to uscis after the interview because of uscis forgetting to check a box.

I don’t think USCIS Ombudsman could say anything since it’s already at NVC with case number?

Then don't execute that part of my answer. Two guns are better then one.

I'm glad everything is working out just as we planned. Now relax as you are refreshed from a visit to your Fiancée and now we need to knock this visa interview out of the park! and get you approved.

Thank you! Now my next step do I wait for the petition to be sent over to DR or do I begin the DS160 and pay the fee!?  Book the VAC and Embassy Appt?

Why wait. Move on to the DS-160 and get it completed and off your plate. Set you Embassy appt about 30 days out so you can get the medical done. There is no reason to drag your feet now. You are the boss and you get to call the shots now.

Question 🤔 if it says on ceac that the petition is still at nvc does it matter? I already did the ds160. Paying it tomorrow. So i can set up fingerprints and embassy appt. They have walk-in for medical. It advises to go two wks before embassy appt to ensure results are in on time. I am so happy. Ty very much..
