@Greenbaum

You’re the one came up to my mind although I am aware this is probably not the thread to ask. I’m getting questions about AOS and I do have links for guidelines and such but couldn’t find anything (possible lack of my internet I couldn’t search too much yet) about what to do. Is there any simple post you saved regarding to that?

I’m sharing the simple flow when asked on what to do. And I know it is not too much to do (get ssn get married is the basic... ) but maybe something like “what a k1 needs to get an ssn? Or anything related to such topics?

I have a website that I created a while back and the information for getting an AOS is still current. I have an overview of what is needed once you land at your POE and have kicked off your shoes and relaxed for a few days. It covers when to get a SSN, where to go and what documents are required. Then it talks about bank accounts and drivers license issues. I tried to get everything you will do once you land in the USA to settle in. I hope this helps.

Exactly (and even more!) what I needed :) thank you!

Alex had his medical this past Wednesday. Everything is in order and he has his interview (London) on the 27th (next Wednesday). The Knightsbridge Doctors said it will take 5 working days to process the stuff and THEN they send it over and that he will be fine at the interview, he just won't be given an answer.

Does this sound right or do we need to reschedule the interview? Also, is there someone that can give me a list of what they were asked for at the meeting to double-check what I have?

Thanks!

Are you looking for the case number to be issued? Or have they lost your file? There is still more to do.

Shoot off an email to the Ombudsman at cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV The Ombudsman provides an impartial and independent perspective to USCIS in an attempt to resolve problems.

I can say that it looks like your cutting the medical to arrive for the interview a little to close unless of course you have confidence that it will be there in time for his interview. Canceling and rescheduling may put you in a position that not many open interview slots for 2 to 3 weeks if not more. I am not familiar with the UK's scheduling calendar. Worst case scenario is he takes the interview as is and if the file is there great! BUT if not, he will get an RFE until the file arrives. Should add approx 2 more weeks waiting. Document requirements are listed in the link at the end of this post.

Thank you very much! I did send a letter to USCIS.. I did the ombudsman no reply as of yet. I mean its been a thing of me calling USCIS speaking with a Tier 2 and they keep telling me it has been sent but NVC states otherwise I requested that they send a duplicate of the petition its been a damn long time. But I will reach out to my Rep because there is no answer to my questions as to where is my petition they keep.on telling me diff stories how can a person wait 90 days if that us the time required to have everything .. Its a no go situation I even sent a letter by mail to USCIS and still no response lastly I was told not to call anymore because it will take longer for the petition to get to NVC its been a pretty long journey for me.. But I appreciate everything you do to help! Seems like a dead end for me 😔
