EAD seems to be faster and does not wait for the GC to be concluded before it is distributed. Being together for the next series of processes helps when you can share up close.

Hello, guys !

We are August filers, with NOA2 received in February ( February thread looks pretty dead ) so I will ask you here.

In short, I had my interview June 8th and I got 221g and was told to send them a CD with communication logs between me and my fiancee along with some pictures, since I did not bring enough.I had to send by CD since the country where the embassy is not the country I am residing in, so I was fine with it.

So, our NOA2 petition expired today. Our case was last updated June 18th on NVC.We contacted the embassy, several times and days/weeks before it expired, and they basically had no clue about 4 months expiration rule or were avoiding to answer clearly on that.

Besides having a problem of am I going to be approved or not, now I have to think about will our petition be annulled since it expires today and they haven't even made a decision.

I wanted to ask you does it matter ? I had interview and all, its under review, so should I be fine even if petition expires today ?

I have no idea whats important for them to have before the petition expires. Is it interview, review, or visa being issued, since I had interview, they took all documentation, got the CD with proofs last Thursday, they just need to make a decision ?

As far as I know your petition is extended automatically as you already did your interview.

NOA2 is valid for one year from issue. The Embassy will extend your NOA2 in increments of 4 months till you reach the 12 month max. Once you attain a visa, that is no long valid.

So you're fine.

Thank you, Naes.Really a cheer up for us.We are so annoyed with the mistake we made by bringing little communication logs and we stacked it with pictures.

Can't wait for this to be over, should be soon.

Thanks again !
