So a USCIS number either begins with

– EAC – Vermont Service Center;

VSC – Vermont Service Center;

– WAC – California Service Center;

CSC – California Service Center;

– LIN – Nebraska Service Center;

NSC – Nebraska Service Center;

– SRC – Texas Service Center;

TSC – Texas Service Center;

– MSC – National Benefits Center;

NBC – National Benefits Center;

– IOE – ELIS (e-Filing); and

– YSC – Potomac Service Center.

and ends with 10 numbers. The NVC case number is also a 13 digit number but beginning with the 3 letters of your Embassy. So you would enter the USCIS number when completing the DS-160.

Good to know!! this clarifies i definitely need to re-do my DS-160 to change my case number, many thanks again :)

Dear Greenbaum, You took my post very negatively, I just removed those questioned (strigke out) which according to you were already answered and I didnt ask those questions, though You answered it again even after knowing it was answered and other people also answer it again. so I removed them by highlighting it. I didn't and never mean what you believed about my behavior. I do go throuh the posts on daily basis.

About your experience, I really appricate that you have been here for long time, it's visibled on your profile, If I had similar experience like you, you would have reacted differently rather than getting short temper & judging the people based on striking the text. I'm also surprised that people are supporting to your negative reactions.

Again,  Thanks for all your help about my queries, & I'm sorry if you felt insulting due to striking text, I didn't mean that way.

it is unusual for someone to repost information (even if lined through) that has been answered, hence the confusion.  in the future it is best not to repost answered questions as that muddies the waters for those trying to help.

Don’t worry you will get it.

just make them double check. There is no tracking number for normal mail in japan so address really matters(check the postal code!)

@Naes The embassy replied me just now saying this:

We confirmed your address was correct in the system. Please wait for another couple of days for your instruction package to be delivered.

I totally have no clue now:(   Awee so annoying.

@Greenbaum Thank you! I got all of the documents ready already. Just wait medical tomorrow and the package.

Hello everyone! I have a question about I-134.

My fiancé's friend agreed to be a co-sponsor for I-134 who passes 125% of Poverty Lines (His income is around 40K and he does not have any dependent). I am going to have an interview in Tokyo, and they said in the embassy instruction that we need to provide at least two or more following documents along with I-134:

  • Copy of his/her latest federal income tax return
  • Letter from his/her employer
  • Statement from an officer of the bank regarding his/her account, the present balance
  • Any other evidence to establish financial ability

So, the co-sponsor prepared his last 3 year federal tax returns, and he is also going to get the letter from his employer.

My question is about Page 3, Part 3, Item#4 and 7.a.

1. Does he HAVE TO answer to #4 "Balance of all my savings and checking account in United States--based financial institution" OR can he write "N/A"?

2. Again, does he have to answer to #7.a. "I have life insurance...." or can we write "N/A" ?

Thank you so much for your help!

1. No but we wrote which was a ridiculous 1000$ in the account at that moment

2. No but it is also ok to put the one with the company.

for my co-sponsor I gave (I overdid it)

employmeng verification letter

3 year tax transcripts

3 year w2s (I did this because we couldn’t get the employment verification letter at first)

pay stubs

We got our visa in hand today (approved on Tuesday). Wondering what the next steps are before marriage. I saw someone say we should go to the Social security office after he arrives in the states to register? This isn't on the list of steps in the K-1 guide. Anyone know anything about this? We're all set to pick up our Marriage license as soon as he arrives (next tuesday).  And then on to the next set of paperwork once we're married....

Yes! Apply for your SSN BEFORE marriage.

There are instructions here to do so if you search for SSN.

No the interview does not need to be scheduled or completed by that date. You actually have one year to process your interview application. Your Embassy will move your date forward in 4 month increments till you have exhausted the one year.
