Apparently not all DS-160 is same. Mine asked for WAC number, and some asks for case number or something....

Also @Sarac9 is right. Are you sure it is asking for case number and not the petition number? Make sure of that. Mine didn't ask for case number at any stage. It just asked specifically for petition number with the USCIS.

Now im panicking again... it said case number so i assumed my LND one from NVC?! This DS-160 site has been nothing but buggy, errors & stupid stress...

Like @Naes said if you haven't scheduled an interview yet then you can resubmit. Because you need the confirmation number for the ds160 to schedule an interview along with the recipt number for the visa fee and the NVC case ID

Maybe it accepts both. Why don't you call NVC or your embassy to ask?? They might be able to clear it up.

Its strange, its allowing me to book my interview im just worried that they will say my DS-160 has the ‘wrong case number’ when i go to the interview? Even though i will have my NOA2 which has my WAC on it... bloooody forms! 😤

Because it has the same structure.. 3 letter then 10 numbers.

it should be written right next to it with explanation about petition number from uscis.

The Canadian version of the DS160 does state that this number is the USCIS application number. I can't show you a screenshot but it does have a note to the side stating this so I know it is not the NVC case number in my embassy's case.

:wow: I'm speechless. I have been on VJ for almost 5 years. For many of those years I have helped many to achieve there goal of getting a visa. You just really surprised me with your entry above. I tried helping you and all you can do is cross out my text. You are very rude, arrogant and quite lazy. You depend on others to do the work for you when they are trying to get through this process in their Country. You don't take the time to read the thread were you questions have been asked by others and answered by others and now you want everyone to kowtow to your request. As far as I am concerned you are on your own as I refuse to try and help someone of your ilk.

Dear Greenbaum, You took my post very negatively, I just removed those questioned (strigke out) which according to you were already answered and I didnt ask those questions, though You answered it again even after knowing it was answered and other people also answer it again. so I removed them by highlighting it. I didn't and never mean what you believed about my behavior. I do go throuh the posts on daily basis.

About your experience, I really appricate that you have been here for long time, it's visibled on your profile, If I had similar experience like you, you would have reacted differently rather than getting short temper & judging the people based on striking the text. I'm also surprised that people are supporting to your negative reactions.

Again,  Thanks for all your help about my queries, & I'm sorry if you felt insulting due to striking text, I didn't mean that way.

hey Yui! The embassy replied me in e-mail said they sent out my package 3 in 25th, May, but I did not receive anything at all. This is quite strange because I live so close to Tokyo. So I wrote an e-mail to them asking for tracking number and have them double comfirm that they sent it to the right address. I remember that you said they made mistakes in your address right?

@NaesGirl, Is there anything else I can do in this situation?

Here is the instructions for gathering your documents which is contained within the P3 from Japan

Its strange, its allowing me to book my interview im just worried that they will say my DS-160 has the ‘wrong case number’ when i go to the interview? Even though i will have my NOA2 which has my WAC on it... bloooody forms! 😤

All things dealing with the DS-160 can be corrected at the interview. Have a cold Stout Beer for me sister. :D

I am pancking now! Lol is this the question on ds 160 regarding the petition/recipt number????

I thought it was asking for WAC #...

So a USCIS number either begins with

– EAC – Vermont Service Center;

VSC – Vermont Service Center;

– WAC – California Service Center;

CSC – California Service Center;

– LIN – Nebraska Service Center;

NSC – Nebraska Service Center;

– SRC – Texas Service Center;

TSC – Texas Service Center;

– MSC – National Benefits Center;

NBC – National Benefits Center;

– IOE – ELIS (e-Filing); and

– YSC – Potomac Service Center.

and ends with 10 numbers. The NVC case number is also a 13 digit number but beginning with the 3 letters of your Embassy. So you would enter the USCIS number when completing the DS-160.
