1)  7 to 10 months if you don't get an RFE

2) no, you have to marry in the states. That's  a requirement of the k1 visa and you have to marry within 90 days of the visa

I don’t understand anymore. US Consulate here in South Africa received K1 petition from NVC on 17th of this month (MAY) and on CEAC website it’s been saying READY but up till now no packet 3 has been sent to us, when i call they always say they will get back to us with informations needed.

These guys are something else.

Just saw this. I am super nervous now.

@Naes @Yuilicious  I called the embassy just now, and the agent said she will inform the officer and they will get back to me in 48 hours. BUT she said , I should not have scheduled the interview before receive the instruction, so I will just have to wait a e-mail from them to know what I should do. And there is possibility that they will let me reschedule my interview!!! NONONONO!! I am not gonna reschedule it!!! I am super nervous now.

So sorry to hear about this, faycher. Thinking of you and really hope you will get Packet 3 in your hand soon!

Your partially correct. The K-1 is for marriage only in the USA, but the 90 day window begins at POE not visa date.

Dear Mr Soyinka,

I guess that answer is you need to wait longer. I don't think at this time it's advisable to continue to inquire until such time that it becomes longer then what you would think normal wait time should be. I understand you maybe at that point now, but I think you understand what I am saying.

Hi team :),

Looking ahead - after booking medical/interview, if I use my credit card to pay for traveling ticket, would airlines ask my fiancee for the credit card during check in? Am I overthinking this?

You maybe are overthinking this but since you inquired here is my suggestion. Have a copy of your fiancée's credit card in the event it's asked for. Be sure to keep it safe and don't destroy it and dump it in a public trash can for a thief to retrieve.

The other forum in which you posted in is a great one to follow.

There are several Nuckers in there in your same boat and they have promised to post when they have gotten an opening.

I'm "in transit" now waiting so I'm just a little behind you but feel free to follow me and what I post.

I'll be looking for the same answers soon if not already.

PS. AS far as I've seen nothing is available atm.

PSS. You should fill out your timeline pls!

Hey!!! Thanks for this! I checked the website all day yesterday...nothing. I went outside for some sun, came back in and saw there are dates available for July11th so I jumped on it right away! I can't believe that was the earliest but then again there is alot of traffic through the Montreal Consulate. So happy!!!!!

Ugh so frustrating.  At this point, all you can do is just check the status of visa and see if the status date changes.  I feel like they update it when they touch your case.  I am in the same boat.  Good luck.

hey Yui! The embassy replied me in e-mail said they sent out my package 3 in 25th, May, but I did not receive anything at all. This is quite strange because I live so close to Tokyo. So I wrote an e-mail to them asking for tracking number and have them double comfirm that they sent it to the right address. I remember that you said they made mistakes in your address right?

@NaesGirl, Is there anything else I can do in this situation?
