Hi guys! A couple of quick questions.... I would like to pay the visa fee right now, am I able to pay it without scheduling my interview yet? (Since I have not received Packet 3 yet). I ask this because on ustraveldocs.com it says that after payment, interview scheduling is possible immediately (well depending on what payment method it was). And question number two, where do I pay the DS-160 fee?! I thought it was a fee of 160$ or is this incorrect? I was under the impression that I need to pay the visa fee (265$) AND 160$ for the DS-160.

You cannot schedule the interview until you have Pack4. That's the email from our embassy that you get AFTER you send back all the pack3 documents. I think some countries can schedule their interview right after they paid the fee but we have to wait for Pack4 ( I know it really sucks!!!).

You pay the DS-160 fee on the ustraveldocs website. As soon as you have put in all your information they will transfer you the payment site. They will ask you how you would like to pay (credit card blabla). And that's how you pay. It is $265. I think that is the only fee we have to pay for now!

you can also DM me in German if you need further assistance :)  or find more information here:  http://www.ustraveldocs.com/de_de/de-niv-paymentinfo.asp

P.S: That's how the site looks like

Unfortunately due to logistics and my work schedule we haven't had any visits since we started this process in October which is why I chose the screen shot of the were we sent pictures back and forth, hoping that at least shows it was me. I'll have to try to get him to send me some screen shots too to make things a little stronger. right now everything shows his name but not mine :o

Same here,im sending to my fiance my screenshots and it is with his name showing,im sending some screenshots with my pictures too,i thing that's fine

Update: In case anyone is confused by this, I was incorrect haha! So the DS-160 has no fee, the only thing that needs to be payed is the 265$ visa fee. I mistakenly used a credit card to try to pay this fee and it resulted in an error message because they do not accept credit card payment. Now I tried to go through the payment process again with my debit card but when I click on the debit card option, it wont let me enter the card info and gives me a "transaction could not be processed" message :(

The DS-160 does not require a fee. I think you're getting things mixed up here.

You can complete the DS-160 from the time you have your NOA2 to the day before your interview. Your choice. There is no fee for this document. Print off a few copies of the confirmation page with the barcode as you will need one for your interview.

Second thing is, you will pay a interview fee $265USD equivalent. This is paid online for some Embassy's. I think Germany you pay it online but be sure to check.

You may want to give it 24  hours as it may need to reset. If you still cannot complete the transaction, is there a "in person" option like a bank that is designated to take MRV payments?

Just for reference as we always say be sure to check with your own embassy too for anyone reading this later. For Togo they scheduled the interview for us and there is no “packet 4”. We were able to pick up the information referred to as packet 3 at the embassy and my fiancé brings all the paperwork back the day of the interview. Plus he was instructed he will pay the fee the day of the interview. So just remember ea h embassy is different ☺️

Thats lovely thank you:) I guess there is no other way than screenshots:D

You can export the entire WhatsApp chat in your memory to a text file. Some say the screen shots are better proof because anyone could type the text file, (not that you would want to type 6 moths worth of chats, and they don’t want to read it all!)

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!:)

I think it has been ready since 22nd May,  and obviously they are updating the date. Now it says update date is 25th May.

Today is an American Holiday, so they probably are not working.

If they’re updating then it if possible they’re gathering info on your country’s necessary papers :)

theyre not working today so I would expect it within this week. (My paper one, the real packet came on 17.so it was 10 days after they got it.

Hi!! Please feel free to ask any questions you have!

Yes, I am Japanese and living in Shiga prefecture. Our case # was issued on May 15th, but the operator at the NVC did not give us the case # even though we kept calling them after the 15th. Therefore, we didn't know our case # until we received the email from NVC with our case # on May 22nd (Japan time so it's 21st in the states). When I checked our case on CEAC website, it was already "READY" on the 22nd so I didn't see "In Transit."

Hopefully you'll receive your packet 3 soon!! Have you made your medical exam appointment already? I made the appointment for medical exam and also the interview before receiving Packet 3.

Why? If you received it already, They don’t need it. Just put the correct one on ds-160 and interview appointment site.

There is no need to call as this is something that 1) can be repaired during your interview or 2) you can repair it within 24 hours of your interview. There is no need for you to stress yourself out about this.

They mentioned "If your name, date of birth, or the mailing address is incorrect/needed to be updated, please send us correct/updated information." I checked every single form I provided my mailing address, and it was all correct. They mistyped the city I'm living at. But yes, I received the Packet 3 because it's obvious that it was mistyped since post officer can look up the prefecture & the city by the postal code. I have a correct mailing address on DS-160 and interview appointment website:)

I called the embassy today but it's an American holiday. lol I guess I should be fine without letting them know their mistake...? haha

Thank you, guys!

@faycher

Sorry just realized you already have an appointment for the interview!!

Can't wait to hear about your experience at the embassy. I have an interview a week after you:)

Hope you'll get your Packet 3 tomorrow!! Also you can call the embassy and they'll be able to let you know if (and what date) they send the Packet 3 out!
