Hi Guys. Quick question

My fiancé used  an immigration lawyer to fill up our paper work since we had some complications from before. Now my question is if I can fill up de DS160 or he have to do it since he was the one that fill the I129f. The thing is he’s out of the city for the all week. And it’s driving me crazy that after all this waiting he is slowing me down from getting my interview appointment <_<

The DS160 pertains to the beneficiary and although the petitioner can help you fill it out, it must be electronically "signed" /submitted by the beneficiary. You can fill it out now and save it but you should wait until you have received Packet 3 instructions to submit.

Ty  :D I told that to my fiancé. He still says that we should wait for the lawyer come backs on Monday and see what he says.  <_<

I haven’t receive my package 3 either so I guess I just gonna start filling up and wait for what the lawyer says.

I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you ❤️

Hi everyone!

Last night, I received Packet 3! They mistyped the city of my address, but fortunately it arrived! I am going to call the embassy tomorrow (Monday) to make sure they have a correct address.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!:)

how long is the timeline from booking CFO appointment to finishing the seminar? is going to take a day or two? a week? I am trying to figure out when is the possible time to book for plane tickets... thank you for those who will answer  :)

Here is what stated from USEM about purchasing tickets before you receive your visa. I advise, from my experience of years of seeing those who purchased tickets end up paying far more than the ticket price to change it because the visa didn't arrive on the applicants timeline. If you do decide to make a ticket purchase please consider flight cancellation insurance. Think about this.... what happens if

  1. SLEC requires a psychological evaluation
  2. SLEC requires further TB testing (Sputum)
  3. SLEC requires TB treatment (6 months treatment program required to complete)
  4. What happens if USEM finds a document is "too old" and requires new and updated
  5. What happens if they find information not to their liking (just happened to someone I just helped - Delay 45 days)

I think you get it.

Here is what USEM says:

Do not finalize arrangements for travel to the United States, dispose of property, or resign from your job until a visa has been issued and delivered to you. Generally, a single-entry fiancé(e) (K1) nonimmigrant visa is valid for six months from the date of issuance, unless its validity is limited by medical or other restrictions.

There is no need to call as this is something that 1) can be repaired during your interview or 2) you can repair it within 24 hours of your interview. There is no need for you to stress yourself out about this.

Your Embassy letter P3 states the following "Fill-out a DS-160 application (available at https://ceac.state.gov/qenniv/) for each applicant. Applicants should verify that all answers are correct, especially if someone other than the applicant completed the application. Please print out and bring the DS-160 confirmation sheet to your interview."

So there is no reason for you not to complete the DS-160 and submit the document now. No lawyer needed.

Trust the process.

Good Morning All!

I got my NOA2 Thursday (May 24 😄) and I am nervous/excited about the next steps. I have 2 questions:

1) Is/has  anyone on this forum going through the Barbados embassy? I'm afraid it will be hard to find anyone as we do not see many apply for immigration from Barbados.

2) I am sorry this question seems super dumb, but everyone is referring to packet 3.... what is that? 😰 The P3 is the Embassy instructions on what documents are needed and the steps to complete the visa interview. I have found this for you to begin reading https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-bb/niv

and this http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Barbados&cty=Bridgetown

Thank you. I’m giving my fiancé time until Monday for the lawyer to complete the DS160 if not Tuesday early I will do it my self ( wich is what I really want). I do trust the process and I have learn a lot here in VJ but he doesn’t know much and don’t want to “messed up”  anyway. I have to be patient or I will lose my mind

I understand. In a relationship to work you have to respect for the others opinion. Having said that, I HIGHLY recommend that you personally complete the DS-160 as you are the one who is going to stand in front of the CO and raise your hand that all the information is truthful and correct to the best of your knowledge BUT you are going to be the one who electronically is filing this document. So you are bound legally (that it's truthful) to what is on that document. So buyer beware.....

Why? If you received it already, They don’t need it. Just put the correct one on ds-160 and interview appointment site.

Hi guys! A couple of quick questions.... I would like to pay the visa fee right now, am I able to pay it without scheduling my interview yet? (Since I have not received Packet 3 yet). I ask this because on ustraveldocs.com it says that after payment, interview scheduling is possible immediately (well depending on what payment method it was). And question number two, where do I pay the DS-160 fee?! I thought it was a fee of 160$ or is this incorrect? I was under the impression that I need to pay the visa fee (265$) AND 160$ for the DS-160.
