@Greenbaum there is indeed a cash pay option but i wanted to do it online :) so i clicked on the "provide feedback" option and explained my situation and they said to wait 24 hours as well! Here is what they said about the cards: "In addition, please note that our payment gateway is set-up to process the following branded cards:
1. VISA Debit
2. VISA Electron
3. MasterCard Debit
4. Maestro

Just because a card is branded with VISA/MasterCard does not automatically mean it is a debit card. Many of the refusals we have seen are V/MC branded Credit Cards which we never accept.

In addition, there are a number of domestic debit card schemes that are available in the region. Each of these card schemes must have the following features to be accepted online:
1. Co-branded with VISA/MasterCard(Maestro) – i.e. they must have one of these logos on the card.
2. Contain a CVV number (this is the three digit number on the back of the card).

If they do not have both these features, they will not be accepted. "

Hi!! Please feel free to ask any questions you have!

Yes, I am Japanese and living in Shiga prefecture. Our case # was issued on May 15th, but the operator at the NVC did not give us the case # even though we kept calling them after the 15th. Therefore, we didn't know our case # until we received the email from NVC with our case # on May 22nd (Japan time so it's 21st in the states). When I checked our case on CEAC website, it was already "READY" on the 22nd so I didn't see "In Transit."

Hopefully you'll receive your packet 3 soon!! Have you made your medical exam appointment already? I made the appointment for medical exam and also the interview before receiving Packet 3.

WOW that's far. So you needa travel to Tokyo to have that interview and medical then??

I have pretty similar situation than you. I did not see in transit, it just jump from "at nvc" to "ready" in the first day I got the number (22nd May)

Then I guess it might because I am not Japanese then. Because I live in saitama ken, where pretty much is three stops to tokyo area. I supposed that I should have received the package sooner.

Then I will just wait and see then. lol

And YES, i made appointment to medical in 1st June and interview in 25th June. Wish you good luck girl!

They mentioned "If your name, date of birth, or the mailing address is incorrect/needed to be updated, please send us correct/updated information." I checked every single form I provided my mailing address, and it was all correct. They mistyped the city I'm living at. But yes, I received the Packet 3 because it's obvious that it was mistyped since post officer can look up the prefecture & the city by the postal code. I have a correct mailing address on DS-160 and interview appointment website:)

I called the embassy today but it's an American holiday. lol I guess I should be fine without letting them know their mistake...? haha

Thank you, guys!

You will be "letting them know their mistake" when you have the correct info on your forms.............

I'm glad you got this figured out and thanks for the explanation. BTW these tips I save to use with others who come behind you so the extra time you took to explain it will help others someday.

You have one of the more advance MRV payment systems in the Embassy network. Other countries have to go on line, print off a receipt, take the receipt to only one bank system and pay it in person. Often times in a small town their bank was never set up to take a visa payment and therefor the applicant has to travel to the next city to pay the fee.

Good luck on the rest of your journey.

Hey Naes,

Congratulations for getting your visa approved.

I read your experience, I just need to understand what are the main financial documents they specifically look for.

1. I have got signed i134 from my US petitioner. how many W2 , paystubs and federal tax return documents are needed.

2. do I also need to carry letter of intent during k1 interview ?

3. Do I need to carry original approved NOA2 letter.

4. any other specific document apart from evidences, police clearance, photos and medical report I need to carry?

5. about photographs, I deally how many photo graphs we should carry?

6. Is it good to prepare photo book or create manual photo album ?

Thank you.

We have one clinic in Kobe (which is 90 min-ish away by a train from where I live) that the US embassy in Japan approves!

So thank god I don't have to travel from Kansai to Tokyo for the medical, then make another trip again for the interview.

It'll be too much cost:/ I mean people from Hokkaido prefecture still have to travel very far to get their medical done.. It's crazy.

I know it makes you nervous.. We are so close to be done and I'm sure you'll get your Packet 3 very soon:)

I went to the police station to apply for my police certificate today.

I had to hold my tears because when the lady started talking about how this process goes (like getting the finger prints and such), I was like "Oh my... I am finally doing this process..." I am sure everyone here has been reading the process for months now and it's so weird to be doing it finally.

I am so attempting to buy my flight to go back to the states, but trying so hard not to, yet.... lol

This is an embassy specific question. This link here shows that your embassy does not send out a packet 3 automatically but you must request it by email.

May I suggest you follow the following portal for your embassy. I'm sure you will find many answers to your questions that are embassy specific.

So when the check-in kiosk asked you for your address where you were staying in tge US you just put your updated one and nothing was said at POE?

You've asked this question before and many have answered your post. On May 11 @ChuAni was kind enough to reply. It was on tab 164 in the April 2018 NOA2 Part 1 thread for your review.

Me too! We are looking for apt to live together later. But you know it is so annoying that you can't just do it before the visa get settled.

It has been a long waiting. And I will call embassy today to see if I can get the package 3 sooner.

They didn't even ask at the checkin desk, I only filled it in online before the trip. Nothing was said at POE, they only saw my do not open-package and sighed a bit because it was the kind of visa where they had to get someone to "interview" me and they didn't seem to have anyone available at first. When they did, the interview was one question, and then I was out of there.

Aw yay! I'm so happy it all worked out for you!

I'm still visiting him in Georgia too. Never ran into any problems at immigration either.

So if any of y'all are coming to visit your Fiancé(e)'s on a tourist visa after you've received your NOA2 I wouldn't be too worried. Just pack your documents that tie you to home and carry your NOAs to prove you're trying to immigrate legally.

Is it normal to be stuck on 'Ready' even after interview? Fiance had his interview last May 18, CO said he is approved. Case was last updated on May 18, May 22 then May 24 but still remain on 'Ready' like he did not even go for his interview. I know I have to be patient, just getting worried seeing some getting the 'Issued' status on CEAC 3-5 days after interview...

@faycher

Sorry just realized you already have an appointment for the interview!!

Can't wait to hear about your experience at the embassy. I have an interview a week after you:)

Hope you'll get your Packet 3 tomorrow!! Also you can call the embassy and they'll be able to let you know if (and what date) they send the Packet 3 out!

Just saw this. I am super nervous now.

@Naes @Yuilicious  I called the embassy just now, and the agent said she will inform the officer and they will get back to me in 48 hours. BUT she said , I should not have scheduled the interview before receive the instruction, so I will just have to wait a e-mail from them to know what I should do. And there is possibility that they will let me reschedule my interview!!! NONONONO!! I am not gonna reschedule it!!! I am super nervous now.
