Visit the US while Visa pending

Hi guys, I know this has been a topic before.  But due to the new administration I was wondering if I can visit my husband while my CR I-130 is awaiting approval.

I don't want to be turned away at the boarder... just want to be there for 2 weeks for Christmas if my visa is still not approved.

Also...I'm from Melbourne... how was your experience with your medical?  Where did you have yours and what was required.

Thanks...any input would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing has changed with tourist visa or ESTA usage. No entry is guaranteed, but unless there is a reason for them to believe you will violate status or stay, you should be fine. People visit with a pending I-130 regularly.

Carry evidence of your ties to return home, whatever they may be (property, employment letter stating when you will be back, etc.). Be honest at all times but there’s no need to volunteer information either.

Thanks so much for your input... I have never overstayed an entry...I visit 3x a year since 2014...I'm just getting a lot of reactions from people saying I could not visit at all...

I just did my medical  at Sonic Health, Flagstaff in Melbourne last Monday. It was pretty easy and the nurse gave me 4 shots of vaccine on the day. After the blood and urine test, you would be directed to Collins Street to do X Ray.

Total assessment is around $630, and if you need vaccine, ( i need to take 4 shots), that's an additional $250.

Thanks Rebecca!  How long did the whole thing take you...also did you get your results on the day?  What were those 4 shots if you don't mind.  I bet they hurt :(  4 Shots OMG!  Not looking forward to any jabs at all!

I spent around 1.5 hours at Sonic Health, but the majority is waiting time. No, we can not get the results on the day. My medical was on 14/5, but they only contacted me this morning (22/5), saying I can collect my report. So that's 9 days in total. I was told the doctor was very busy finalizing all reports.

The shots are flue vaccine, MMR, Td, and one other which I can not remember. Anyway, i need to do ALL shots based on my age. I am 33. It's very paining. I still have bruise on my arm. I think the bruise will stay there for another week.

So 5 needles in total on the day. 1 blood test and 4 shots. It hurts~~~~~My wallet hurts as well....

LOL I reckon my wallet would hurt too!  I just found out I can get those shots for nothing from the hospital ( I work for the local hospital)...  I am 43 so I may be needing them too!  I will be putting a numbing cream for sure!

Did you do a thyphoid and tetanus?

BTW, good luck on your application...I hope it goes fast!  I'm still awaiting for NOA2...Are you K1 or CR I-130?

If you can get free vaccine from local hospital, go get it! That's a saving of $220.

ok, below are what they gave me. Depend on whether you are right handed or left handed, the nurse will gave 2 shots on each of your arm. My left arm shots are more painful than right arm. I am right handed.

Flu vaccine - $29.70 ( what a rip off~~Pharmacy only charge $10)

Dtpa ad inj - $49.50

MMR - $40.70

Varicella - $99 ( wallet hurts....)

I am on K1. My interview is on 29/5. Getting so nervous~~~ Fingers and toes crossed~~~

What sort of information are you wanting ? About the condition? Impact on medical ?

Yes please... I know I have to do MMR and the rest as per chart you stated... But how aboyt Latent TB, please?

My chest Xray as per my GP is clear but coming from an asian country originally, I may have Latent TB which is very common.

Any info would be very useful...do they check for Latent TB? Thanks
