I am Korean born and raised in Japan (permanent resident) and now applying for K1 from Tokyo.

what kind of additional papers/forms I would need to submit to US embassy when I have an interview with them?

some says I need to fill out DS 230??

I’m a foreigner applied in Tokyo. They did not ask for a ds-230.

They may ask for it when they send you the packet 3 and until then it is not important because the only time they may ask for it is when they ask you to send back the packet. There may be other papers included However these seem to change depending on the country of origin.

the only form different would be the equivalent of birth certificate in south Korea. And if you’re a male you need to have military discharge papers.

You can check the equivalent of birth birth certificate from here:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/SouthKorea.html

you can also try to find what they want from k1 applicants in South Korea, and find what you may need.

Thank you for your quick reply!

How about police record?

Do I need one from Korea too?

I have never lived there...

thank you again!
