I'm rapidly making my way through the Mars bars I brought over from my last trip. I'm scared I'll have withdrawal when I finally get through them!

I love Mars Bars. Since being over here I find that the US Milky Ways are pretty much the same. Any port in a storm!

True - except our chocolate sucks.

Funnily enough not on the Milky Ways. That tastes rather scrummy. Another good choc, that is similar in taste to UK choc, is Hershey's Symphony. It has more milk solids than normal Hershey's so it tastes rather...well, tasty.

Try it, I think most Ukers would like it.

Anyone know where in Kentucky I will be able to get any British brands from?

Are you close to Cincinnati?

Hershey's Symphony. It has more milk solids than normal Hershey's so it tastes rather...well, tasty.

And Cadbury's US style is better than Hershey's...if not as good as UK choccie.

Coffee Crisp

Oh yuck any chocolate with coffee in it has got to be disgusting, the mere thought of it makes me wanna puke :o

Cadbury's used to put the coffee ones in the big tin they were always left, my daughter now takes them as she loves em, yucky

At least its something different than the obsession with Peanuts and Peanut Butter that all American candy bars must contain in some form. The Coffee Crisp was actually quite nice, but not a patch on a Toffee Crisp.

Yes, Dove is the US name for Galaxy, both made by Mars, so the similarity is not a coincidence.

Similarly a Dove Ice Cream bar is basically the same as a Magnum Ice Cream bar in the UK.

WFM is a good 30 min drive. Once when I was close, I decided to go in to get Tmma some Jaffa Cakes...so I go in, look around, and alas; no JC! So I settled on the next best thing: choccie-caramel digestives. And I figure what the hell, I'll buy me some as well.

I ate mine within 3 days...on the 4th day, I tore into hers, lol.

Good thing it was a suprise & not a promise or favor! hahahahah

1 jar Mint Sauce

3 320g jars Branston

454g jar of raspberry jam

Coconut creams (for hubby)

The only choc bar that actually yastes like its UK counterpart is Kit-Kat.

Wonder if anyone has told Cadburys in UK how Hersheys are destroying their brands with the poop they are putting out under the Caddbury name was disgusted when I first tried the Fruit and Nut bar!

What? :o Kit-kats are disgusting in the USA, they taste nothing like the ones in the UK. The chocolate on them is pure Hershey's #######.

They taste a lot better than Hershey's Kit Kats! Have you tried one recently, I believe they changed the receipe. They're still nto a patch on the original, but are way better than nasty waxy Hershey's regular chocolate.
