The worst is the Mormon guy who wants to move to Ecuador because he gave his girlfriend his life savings ($40k) to invest in "properties" for their future---in Ecuador??? , to buy a car, and something else.  He sends her money on a regular basis too.  So he has no choice but to move there since she doesn't want to move to the US.  And she doesn't want to work, have kids (and he does), and yet he's willing to do all this.  She seems to be using him to live a comfortable life on her terms, not having to compromise at all now that she has his whole bankroll. 

 

The worse part is she claims she is only 26 years old, she has been rode hard and put up wet one time too many.  She is closer to 46 than she is to 26.  She looks like she is 40 years old.

I have a High School friend of mine who is a International journalist and Ultra marathon runner. She lived in India and was doing stories for a number of American newspapers for anything involving Pakistan and India while working there. She said that she loved India when living there but would never retire there for a couple different reasons: Because she a white blond and blue eyed girl she kept having to tell people even police that she wasn't a prostitute which really pissed her off, the other reason was that she caught Yellow fever while training for a Himilayan ultra-marathon.   Now she is more than happy to visit but not to live there.

Does anyone else think that Azan probably lied to Nicole about not being to go to Grenada and he’s actually sitting there by the pool sipping a cocktail at the hotel she booked and paid for?

I REALLY dislike Andrei.  I can't believe how entitled he is, and how disrespectful of Libby's dad.  I can't see that marriage working out.

Totally agree. I wanted to scream at him when he said to Chuck “it’s an old subject” when he brought up the issue of him not working and not providing for his wife and unborn child. It’s anything but an “old” subject when just a few weeks ago Libby had to go begging her dad for money for a place to live. Not for a Caribbean cruise. Not for cosmetic surgery. His pregnant daughter had to beg him for money for a roof over her head. I don’t think Andrei realizes just how serious that is.

I think he's spending the money she sent him for his ticket to Grenada!! Which I'm guessing wasn't cheap. 

I don't understand Nicole's family either. Her dad was going to go to Grenada also to meet Azan. Why are they encouraging her? Seems the only one with any sense is her step father.

well, theres no genetics between step dad and anyone else, so.... 

 

mom is scares nicole will keep the baby away from her if she pushes back too much, i think. id be trying to get custody if i were here

Of course he lied,  She was gonna take him to a place where he would have to hold her hand and kiss her in public, and then at night he would have to share a room and bed with her.

I spent 11 weeks in India over 2 trips in late 2013-early 2014.  I was sent there to train the lazy idiots my former employer hired to eventually replace our entire department in the US.  And 2 years later, we were all out on our butts (but with a healthy severance package for 18 years).  

 

I would NEVER even think about moving there.  The smells alone in the streets made me nauseated most of the time.  The temperatures on my 2nd trip were 100+ (but no humidity).  It was bearable but not very comfortable.  If I was in Mumbai, I'd probably be dead with that humidity.  I could not eat any Indian foods.  Thank god i was at the Westin, so they had some western food choices.

Oh I realize he lies to her about everything. He wouldn’t know the truth if he fell over it. But i was wondering if he lied even more than just the “family emergency, sorry honey, can’t go” and actually DID go, alone or with someone else. It’s a free trip for him. She bought the ticket. Unless she had the sense to cancel it after the phone call.

Just as Nicole was about to leave for the airport, Azan calls and says “family emergency, can’t go on the trip”. He refused to go on camera to talk about it because he said “it makes him look bad”. All we got was Nicole in the phone, storming out of the room, mother arriving in the early hours to talk to her, Nicole disappeared out of the trailer (how? It appears to only have one door and there’s no way she’d fit through the window) and was later found walking around.

I was so looking forward to "The Other Way" version of the show, and it was a huge letdown.

 

...I mean, we're still gonna watch, because #GuiltyPleasure, but still. I was hoping for at least one decent couple. These are no different than the train wrecks they've been bringing on the original shows.

 

Someone posted earlier than the 60 year old and the Indian guy have met before, but it REALLY came across in the premiere episode that they never have. Maybe that was intentional, but wow. First, he catfished her. That alone should've been a huge red flag. Doesn't seem like much more effort was made, and she's willing to give up her life, sell everything, and risk her savings to move there. And I'm with a majority of you other folks - why on earth give up the US citizenship??? SSI or not, that is a huge loss for her. And come on. You've made it this far in life, and she's SURPRISED that giving up US citizenship would mean not getting SSI?? That's kind of a given.

 

I don't understand the Mormon guy. In one moment, he's talking about his financial concerns with moving to Ecuador, but in another, he's spending almost 800 bucks on clothes for .... HER family/friends?? And admits he's given her 40k??? I love my husband beyond words, and beyond money, but no way no HOW would I have sent him THOUSANDS of dollars like that!! Same with Nicole and Azan - it kills me how some of these people are willing to bleed money for folks who won't bend a single bit for their benefit.
