I saw the Jon and Rachel and the “finally raised (or should it be “begged”) $11k” so now they can file. Why did they wait until they had $11k? He won’t need a lawyer for his I-601 until he has been denied at the embassy. That’s at least a year from now. Why the heck didn’t they get started with the I-130 for $535 and save for the next stage while that’s in progress? You don’t write a check for $11k the day you mail off your petition to the Phoenix lockbox.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

I saw that on reddit the other day as well that she had finally managed to get the $12k she needed in order to file for the visa to bring him. Which by that count I think we can all agree that he will need a waiver to get the IR1 by that time. But $12k is insanely expensive for that.

Like JFH said, she could have filed the I-130, it's only $535 and they would have at least 9 months or so to continue to save. Neither are the brightest crayon in the box!

October 31, 2016 I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

November 4, 2016 Received text case sent to Nebraska

November 10, 2016 Received Hard copy of NOA1

Hopefully Jon and Rachel know they have to pay taxes on that crowdfunding money.

Colteeeee has got his divorceeee, apparently she conceded on some of her countersuit demands in mediation so they didn’t have to go to court.

I have been enjoying it soooooo much more than the regular episodes! 😂

Loving it! Wasn't a fan of David and Annie when they were on the show (and never understood why, when money was in such short supply, they decided to follow the most expensive way possible to get her here when they could have married and done DCF via Bangkok and she would have been work-eligible from day 1), but they are so good on Pillow Talk. Right on the money with every comment they make.

No true! I didn't like them on the show either! But now, they are just so right on and blunt with every comment! It's great! I also really like Loren and Alexei, they seem like a really sweet and normal couple! Which we don't often see on the show 😂

I see the much-rumored 90DF 'The Other Way' starts on June 3 on TLC. Six couples (one person is a USC the other is from somewhere else) are starting life together in the other person's country. Pole and Kreeny are back. Makes me wonder why they wasted so much money on a CR-1 if there was no intention to live here. It does make me pleased to see that Kreeny is definitely not with him for a GC (I wasn't convinced at first). The other couples make Pole and Kreeny look normal. There's one train wreck after another. A woman leaving everything (including kids) to live with a man in South Africa with an interesting criminal past and a gambling addiction, a MENA male and blonde USC female with an age gap of over 20 years, a woman who was catfished but forgave him and stayed with him anyway (India, 30-year age gap - echoes of Lowo and Narkyia), a USC female and male from South Korea - pregnant on first visit (echoes of Kalani and Asuelo).
