Anybody who googled for 5 minutes could find out the basics of a K1 what it is and what it is not.

So do I believe they have found the mother load of stupid people who have no clue? A few I can accept but series after series?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

its okay. i wont tell your secret. theres nothing to be ashamed of LOLOL

does the show script the stupidity and outright untruths about the process then? Because I dont see how anyone can be on VJ and not know some of these things. I know, I know, they script a fair amount. But to make up about the process - or at least not give factual information about the process- drives me insane. they can make up about the cast members. thats why we all watch after all.

cause id really hate to think they were truly all that stupid.

I'm fairly sure a lot of it is scripted, the couples know they should marry and adjust ASAP and I suspect some of the foreign born partners are very aware of VAWA before making the move

I remember reading Jason and Cassia (from season 2) got married before their filmed wedding in Vegas.

Molly and Luis (my favorite 90 Dayer of ALL TIME) got married and kept the secret from production until Luis walked out and she had to come clean. She explained Luis was pushing her to get married so they could file the paperwork ASAP.

I'm thinking cast members sign contracts stating they'll wait until the very last minute to get married.

People on reddit are always posting marriage certificates and figuring out the timeline of entry into country and final wedding date. They need to keep the fiction of "couples only marry around days 80-90 because they just don't know!"

A season of 90 Day Fiance (OG) would be incredibly boring if the all foreign partners entered the US, couples get married at the courthouse after a day or two and then they get the AOS package together. We'd miss out on the requisite "you're only marrying him/her for a GC" and the "your town is so boring, I'm going to leave you if we don't move to the BIG CITY" scenes.

Imagine "90 Day: Removal of Conditions" -- watch as six couples wait for USCIS to process some meaningless paperwork. Will it take four months -- or two years? Who knows? Who cares? Be gripped as the GC holder needs another extension because no one has picked up her file in 16 months. Marvel at how life goes on normally except for minor flashes of excitement and irritation. Watch "90 Day: Removal of Conditions" -- only on Discovery+.

Coming this June! Or September! Or 2023! Who knows???

Watch the drama unfold as Biniyam is flirted with at USPS as he mails his 19 lb packet, and Areola SEES RED!

paul and i used to say how very boring it would be if we were on. we actually saw each other all the time while dating, KNEW each other, our family and friends all liked each other, we dont fight, we both had good jobs and made good money... THE HORROR! lolol

i liked the french lady. her boyfriend... not so much. at all. to put it mildly.

i think i was one of the few who likes rachel and whatever his name is.

both of them seem intelligent about the process, from what was shown. iirc.

I am also an Amira and Rachel/Jon fan. While Amira isn't exactly a rocket scientist, her heart is in the right place and she did the right thing giving up on revolting, vile Andrew. 🤮 When I was watching that season, my husband sat through an episode with me  and asked me something like, how many katanas and throwing stars do you think he stores in the closet?

My husband introduced me to the 90 Days. He found out about it through some podcast he listens to and was all -

"People like us! Let's watch it. Maybe we'll learn something about the immigration process... " :jest:

I can only hope that much of it is writing or coaching to be not so smart, but I fear not. what always gets me is how they (or their family, and then they are not corrected) say 'theyll have to work as soon as they get here' ummmm not on a k1 they wont. 😕 i also see a lot of attorneys say incorrect things, but weve seen that first hand (in their actions if not their words) on here.

I'm currently watching Before the 90 Days and they are so weird.

I would not be leaving my 8 month old baby with a new person who had no experience with kids.

In one scene, the baby is crying and she lets him go comfort the kid.

In another scene, the baby is crying while he is putting the crib together and he asks Rachel to "make it stop crying, it's stressing me out!"

Not a parent, so shouldn't judge but I do!

There were rumors swirling the Reddits awhile back that Rachel's baby was actually Jon's, but they tinkered with the storyline to create drama for the "first meeting."   That baby is is spitting image!

I was never a fan of Rachel and Jon.  She incessantly whined how "unfair" it was that her criminal husband wasn't getting approved for the K1 or Spousal Visa.   They're still separated by the Atlantic Ocean.   LESSON:  Choose wisely.   USCIS won't love your fiance' or be as forgiving of their past crimes - as you are.

Another 90DF couple was on VJ was Benjamin  (Benjami and Akinyi).   I see on instagram - it appears she made it to the US  - which surprises me a little since they "married" in Africa (traditional ceremony) while filed for a K1.

The show has become a caricature of the real K1 process.

PS - Andrew (who dated Amira) lives a few miles from my work.  Never met or seen him ... but definitely an ODD-DUCK!   Amira was cute - hoping the best for her.

I know sometimes you  cant help who you fall in love with but i couldnt do that (the permanent long distance). maybe if you had the money to fly back and forth for extended trips but to my knowledge, they dont.

i wondered how that would affect their process. If they kept real quiet about it and didnt MENTION it, they could get away with it I guess.
