Probably every couple on the show has said that 90 days isn't long enough to get to know someone as if they are lobbying for an extension and I can't understand how it is that someone would propose and tell the USCIS they are going to marry if they didn't already know them well enough. It's not a dating service to try some out a few months. 

Oh they definitely select couples that are the worst possible representation of this process. This whole “we have 90 days to figure out if we want to get married or not” nonsense. We all know that the K-1 is intended for couples who are completely ready to get married. Very early on in our journey we considered (briefly) the K-1 and we read that we had 90 days to marry. We were surprised. When we were ready to marry, we were ready to marry. Why would you need 90 days? If we had done the K-1 I’m sure we would have married within a week of my arrival, even faster if we went to another state that doesn’t have the waiting period that WA does. But that wouldn’t make good TV so TLC looks for couples who love drama more than their fiancé.

They used to select halfway decent couples and actually recruited on this site in the early years. Unfortunately now they have gone straight for the ratings and the crazy couples.

The still try, but we ban the recruiters now because the show is such a train wreck (doesn't stop me watching )

I took this picture a few years back, and even at that time my wife was about 12 years older than Natalie is now.  Heck, my wife has a daughter that is just a couple of years younger than crazy Natalie.
