Wow, so much for freedom, restricting its own citizens on where they can spend their vacations!!!

There is no such thing as absolute freedom.

There is no right to travel internationally to where ever you want for anyone.  Everyone of us human being is restricted on where we can travel to.  Everyone.

+1

Exactly.

We would like to live in a world where there is complete freedom but in reality, to believe there is absolute freedom is naivety.

Usually it's the country you're entering that might restrict you which is fair. The country you're coming from though, restricting you where you can vacation, that's not freedom. All the other countries that don't ban their citizens from traveling are not anywhere close to having absolute freedom. This is just basic freedom.

You may want to check where North Korea restricts which of their citizens can leave the country.  Then, try China where the government refuses to issue passports to undesirable citizens (i.e. Muslims) .  Then, try a whole list of other countries that don't allow their citizens to go to Israel.

Please list one country where this "basic freedom" to travel to any and every country exists.  Just one.

Most European countries.

I needed a visa to go to Turkey, admittedly cheaper than for USC's.

Name one country.

Don't generalize by vaguely naming "most European countries."

Since you are asserting that free travel is a "basic freedom," then it shouldn't be hard for you to name one country where this "basic freedom" exists.

Doesn't Germany warn its citizens about traveling to Turkey?

Warning your citizens is completely different from making it illegal (and punishable) for them to visit. The US constantly warns its citizens about traveling to many different countries (I used to receive all of these warnings before I figured out how to turn off notifications on the USCIS app), that's completely different.

It's not illegal to visit Cuba. It is restricted. Your points are not really valid and you're going in circles.

Anyway, I think this is derailing the OP's original question. So, I am going to stop.

OP got some good advice and info on this topic minus the irrelevant banter.

Cool.  You picked the most powerful passport on the planet.

Now, look at the restriction on the "basic freedom" to travel for German passport holders.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_requirements_for_German_citizens

Governments have a right to restrict which foreign countries their citizens go to.  That's why they have to ask their governments for permission to travel to certain places.  It's universal since NO COUNTRY recognizes a "basic freedom" for their citizens to travel to ANYWHERE they want.  There is no such thing.
