Just called NVC after a few false starts with getting kicked back to the automated line. Operator said we have been shipped to London just today.

From others' posts, I know that might mean it just went downstairs to go out in tomorrow's DHL shipment, but I'll take it anyway!

Now to try to track it on DHL's site. VJers haven't seemed to have much luck with that lately, but worth a shot.

How can we track it?

Should the next step really be to call the Kiev Embassy and ask if they received our packet?

Or should the beneficiary call since they are on the same time zone etc??

How can we track it?

Well, you can't really, but you can guestimate - for some Embassies anyway. From another post -

www.dhl.com

Track by Reference

Reference: (Depends on Embassy)

I-730

EXPEDITE NIV SECTION (Maybe Non-Immigrant Visas)

EXPEDITE IV SECTION (Maybe Immigrant Visas)

CORRESPONDENCE

Put the range of dates around the date that NVC gives you as package has been shipped.

I'd link to the post, but can't find it (had saved the instructions on a desktop note)

I cant' seem to get ANY London shipments to come up, seems to be under "correspondance" which there's too many of. It's a ####### shoot and only gives you a rough idea, if any. So don't invest too much time trying to figure out if you can game the DHL site into helping you track the progress. But if you can figure it out, give it a shot. Sender's zip is 03801.

Should the next step really be to call the Kiev Embassy and ask if they received our packet?

Or should the beneficiary call since they are on the same time zone etc??

T

I think it depends on the Embassy - you should see if people in your regional forum have suggestions. For London, there's this super expensive toll line they can call over there, or I can call a number with a Washington DC area code for (nearly) free.

But how do you know when it gets in the system? Is this via the USCIC Logon page?

I say that because nothing has changed since getting my NOA2.

Man, you guys are really starting to scare me...

Just chill out, catch up on your sleep and wait those few days til you get the package from your embassy.

This is nothing compared to the 3+ months you have already waited.

Take it easy!

The world around you gets hazy and the only thing you focus on is you and that person. And for that one moment you've been given this amazing gift and you want to laugh and you want to cry at the same time because you're so lucky you've found it and so scared that it will go away.

LOL I know what you mean, but I know how DHL works too, shipping usually takes 2 to 3 days at the most with DHL.

They are not the post office that sends regular mail.

So just trying to understand the next steps. Sometimes if you drop the ball, someone else takes your place.

Just don't want them waiting on me!

So they shipped my packet on the 9th, it is now the 14th, so it could be at the embassy today or tomorrow.

You're free of the Department of Homeland Security and USCIS now! You've moved to the State Department - so the USCIS login page won't help you anymore. Follow fwaguy's lead! (And that's further evidence you should check your region specific forum for more information!) Good luck :)

hey guys!! NVC got my approval yesterday!!! I was gonna wait 3 weeks to call them, in fact i was gonna stay 3 weeks away from VJ because my fiancee said i was getting obsessed, but today i just couldnt resist and i read the last posts on this thread and i saw some of you made it to the NVC so i decided to call them, when the lady asked me CUAL ES EL NOMBRE DEL BENEFICIARIO?? I started to jump, and then she told me my approval it wasnt there anymore, they sent it out yesterday!!! I am getting very stressed I thought i would have at least 3 more months to prepare everything for the interview. btw do you have any idea of how long it takes from this point until i get the package 1?? i know every embassay is different, im just trying to get an idea.

Yea!!! Congrats! I know, wasn't it THE BEST when they asked for the beneficiary's name! I got all full of butterflies! And yes, suddenly it's all "uh-oh, get on those documents!" in our world!

Hey ppl.. I've been reading the posts and keeping up... just been a bit forum shy. Anyway, I had to respond to this one because today I called the NVC about my petition that was sent from CSC. It was soo funny, talking about butterflies... I was talking to my fiancee on the telephone when I called and she heard the woman ask what the beneficiary's birth date was and I said the wrong number for the month! I was so excited I could not put Aug and 8 together... instead I said 9. The woman must have thought I was a horrible fiance. So after a bit of silence and stutter on her part, she then asked me for my birth date which I remembered because I was already thinking what an idiot I was for saying 9 instead of 8. This only happens to me :)

Anyway... she said they got the petition from CSC on May 11. I hope they sent it out today to Warsaw.

Something else I should mention is that I did not get my NOA2 hard copy... and I believe that you are supposed to send the original notice of action to your fiancee for the interview. Maybe I am wrong... but I have yet to get mine and my NOA2 email said it was mailed on May 3rd. From my experience packages take at least 3 weeks to get to my fiancee in Latvia. And she lives in the country.. so add a day or two. I'm a bit worried she wont have my package of papers for the interview. Anyone from May 3 with their hard copy of NOA2?

I called the NVC just now to see what's up (and to get the new number).

Took a few tries and ten minutes on hold with that strangely cheerful recorded guy, but I got my number and the petition was forwarded to the London Embassy on May 8th!

The operator was cute... I told her I had two questions, and I asked for the number, and then she said "I bet I know what your second question is..." and I told her she was psychic! lol!

So I hope that means we should get Packet 3 any day -- maybe tomorrow!
