On what dates did you first and then again call NVC, psho?

Just because I'm bored . . . .

I decided to sit on hold and call NVC to ask if they new what was up with any delays. Of course they didn't. They say 2-4 weeks and "but it can take up to 90 days" - to which I said "let's just not go there." Pleasant enough people, but no answers - not that I'm surprised.

So I decided to call USCIS to ask what's up. They don't know. Well, the info line doesn't know because they don't mail them out, the service centers do (I know, I know, it gave me a chuckle too). The operator offered no advice on getting better insight into the time table.

So there you have it - absolutely no new information! Doesn't everyone feel better now?!

I called on April 30 and then again on May 4 (after being told to not try again for two weeks -- :P )

Sounds like you got the same information I got ("could take 90 days").

Daisy,

I called every other day until they finally received it, and no one there knew anything about anyting. EVER! It was the same 90 day speech every time I called. Which was EXTREMELY frustrating. I got the shock of my life when i called Friday evening and they had our file. Of course, unlike everyone else who seems to get in and out of there in a day or two, my case has decided it wants to hang around as long as it can :(

As long as we go on the assumption that no one has any information at the USCIS/NVC, I guess there won't be any surprises.

And just wait until the consulate stage when they're CHARGING us to call them!

MY CASE IS AT NVC!! My heart's pounding! :jest: I just called tonite (late Monday nite) and NVC said they JUST got my file!!! I asked if they knew when they would be mailing it off (yeah right) & the VERY foreign lady (I could barely understand her accent) said they'd send me a letter within 2-4 weeks letting me know (standard info I guess).

So I bet a lot of the other May 3rd Approvals got sent at the same time!! :dancing: Now hopefully they'll send it on in their customary few days like they used to! GOOD LUCK ALL!

That's in the K3 forum - I believe K3s and K1s are processed a bit differently at the NVC. But it may give the K1ers an idea as to how long its taking cases to get to NVC.

=============

Well, when I called on May 2nd USCIS officer told me I had been approved & my file sent to NVC back on April 24th (day of my touch) but I hadn't gotten any email or online update. Then on May 3rd I got the approval emails like a lot of us did....so I am waiting to get my NOA2 in the mail to find out if my NOA2 date is officially May 3rd or April 24 (it prob is May 3rd).

But yeah I got my approval emails on May 3rd & NVC just got my file as of last nite so I bet a lot of you with May 3rd approvals got sent to NVC too. Or maybe they sent mine off April 24th like the USCIS officer told me (but I took that with a grain of salt...).

Anybody else as confused as me? LOL!

Now I heard that my guy has to give a month and a half notice before he can leave his job & prob won't give notice til he's approved for the Visa. Arghhhhhh!

Hmm, interesting. Definitely let us know what the hard copy NOA2 says is your NOA2 date.

I just called NVC and nut&honey for us still! Not surprised, but hell, why not call, eh?

Oh - and now that you reminded me, Scarlett07, I remember your days of confusion courtesy USCIS over exactly whether you were approved or not! Either date - 4/24 or 5/3 - I think it's good news for us all that you are at NVC now! Especially good news for you! Congrats :)

Hey lucho - did you call yet today? Nudge, nudge, go call 'em (I was only on hold 5 minutes) and see what they say. Can help us, perhaps, sort out Scarlett's approval date and what the times-to-NVC look like (this week anyway).

add me to the list of May 3'ers... i haven't called NVC yet as i don't want to be disappointed, but i'll probably call in the next few days (friday at the latest)...

forget who mentioned it, but i have to agree the NVC forum is scary, not to mention confusing as all get out, with all the fees and shortcuts, etc, that they mention.

the police check is no problem - i can have that in 15 minutes of filling out the paperwork - but i need to likely get a couple shots and book my medical, but i can't do that until i have my NVC case number... *sigh* hurry up and wait, yet again...

First contact: Oct 14/06

First meeting: Nov 6-13/06

Engaged: Dec 29/06

Moved to US: June 28/07

Married: July 14/07
