Hi

I need some advice from UK to USA K1 filers.

We got NOA2 (I-797) finally in the post dated 24th April.

Since then we have had no letters or emails from NVC with the London Case Number.

During this time I have emailed and called NVC and encountered some awful people by phone telling me to wait 6-8 weeks.

Eventually, one of the email replies to the contact forms provided my LND number so now I can see on CEAC it is ‘At NVC’ and has remained at that status since Tuesday when I got this email.

I have read mixed information here now so here’s where I need advice. I want to book the medical, but currently have nothing ‘in writing’ as in the email from NVC to the petitioner or a letter from the embassy to me the UK Fiance which I understand are the two forms of proof they will accept.

I have done the DS160 but not ‘submitted’ as again I believe it needs to be received by the embassy or I could delay things sending early.

I have all my paperwork here ready for the interview apart from the wet ink signed affidavit my partner is bringing over on his visit in 2 weeks. It does say on the Website that you dont actually need this affidavit but just enough proof you wont be a burden on the US system?

I have submitted another contact form to NVC to chase up this email as looking on this forum, once they allocate the LND number it was pretty quick for people but had I not chased it I am going on the fact we had NVC at the end of April and no proactive contact from anyone since.

From experience though, I am not very impressed with contact throughout this process as we filed mid June and got NOA1 July 3rd 2017 and the USCIS website, nor the USCIS app updated for 10 months after we called chasing up to see if they received in the RFE response that set us back.

Thanks in advance for any advice, I really want to move the last week of July/1st week August and i’m hoping this is achievable.

For all the money we pay for this I just wish we could all spend less time chasing and being pointed at weblinks and just get assistance painlessly! Xx

If the best things in life are free, why is a long distance relationship so expensive!?

I can only answer the NVC letter part.

in our case only the petitioner received the email when it went to transit and it was enough for medical. Beneficiary receives this if they requested it from NVC beforehand giving their email to forward but not necessarily have to have it directly from NVC.

Attached file was named simply “k1 FTP”

(I’m not from UK but I just wanted to give the info cause waiting sucks :) good luck!)
