Good day to all! I have an inquiry to those who have knowledge or any potential answers to my confusion regarding the RoM and renewal of passport process at Ph Embassy in Chicago. My questions are, can I do my RoM and renewal of passport even though we havent adjust my status yet? And if so, can we just submit a copy of my original k1 visa along with our marriage cert. to satisfy the Ph embassy's requirement as proof of Philippine citizenship without having a problem or being denied by them? Please, we are looking for any clarifications regarding this matter before making any move. All response will be appreciated wholeheartedly. TIA :)

I did our report of marriage in Singapore as we were married there. All you need to do is download the forms, they are editable, physically sign 4 copies. Bring your original marriage certificate and 4 copies of your marriage certificate and 4 copies each of yours and your spouse's passports bio page. They do not need to know if your status is adjusted or not, the ROM is only to report a marriage overseas to be registered in the PSA philippines.

Yes.     Copy of your K-1 visa is listed.

PASSPORT RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS:

I.      RENEWAL OF e-PASSPORTS (maroon Passports with chips and Passport no. starting with EA, EB or EC)

1   Accomplished Renewal Regular Application Form (Adult) or the Regular Passport Application Form (Minor)

2         2.  Original Current Passport and photocopy of data page

3.        3.  Photocopy of green card or US visa

4.        4.  For Dual Citizen applicants, photocopy of Dual Identification Certificate.

http://www.chicagopcg.com/forms_eppt.html

Do provide everything listed on their website for required documents.  ROM documents would be needed to renew the passport in your married name.  Not sure if Chicago will do both at the same time, I know that the L.A. consulate does.

Thank you to all of your responses. It is surely feels good to have people who are more than willing to help others in such processing period. Just to clarify, I am good to go renewing my passport just by having a copy of my K1visa, right? My biggest fear is to drive all the way to the Embassy only to be turn down due to not having a proof of AoStatus yet.

did you check for consular outreach opportunities that may be closer to your home? My wife and I are renewing her passport in Cleveland on Saturday the 26th, they also have opportunities to do ROM (not sure if you can get appointment for both) but this is a much cheaper and closer option for us than  going to Chicago
