Hey friends! I am completing the I-129 and have a couple questions...

  1. 13a. My fiancee has lived in her current home since 1994. Is it okay to just put 1994 (versus MM/DD/YYYY) since we do not know the date and month?
  2. 62a. My fiancee lives in Yekaterinburg. Should I put Yekaterinburg for the Consular Processing Information as they have resumed operations there, or would be it be safer/smarter to put Moscow?
  3. As far as pictures go for Proof of Meeting...is it okay to print a couple on a sheet of 8.5 x 11 with descriptions, or do they need actual photos?
  4. My fiancee has a 5 year old. I included that information on the I-129. Is there anything else that needs to be done at this time for his K2?
  5. My fiancee is divorced. She will translate her Divorce Certificate. Is there a specific document she needs to complete "certifying" the translation for this? Does the same need to be done for any Boarding Passes etc that she may translate?

I think that is it for now. I am have spent so much time scouring the internet and watching YouTube videos and I am just scared to F* this up. Ha! I know this is going to be a VERY long process.

Thanks for your help!

I-129F* The I-129 is a petition for an alien employee.

  1. I'd suggest trying to find the date the best you can. If reallly you can't get more specific, then just the month or year can be provided.
  2. Moscow. All immigrant (and K-1) visas are processed there. https://ru.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/
  3. That's fine...there's no strict requirements for any supporting evidence. They just need to be able to be understood by a person. Labels (when/where/who) help as well.
  4. No. That will come into play later...she will fill out a DS-160 for herself and one for her child as well.
  5. No, but a template is here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/translations
    1. All non-English documents should be translated

What is the best way to send documents from Russia to the US?

There's nothing you need for the petition that can't be sent by email (finalizing the paperwork for mine for A right now).

Even the passport-style photo, your fiancé(e) can send you an image file and you can print it yourself (if you've got some photo paper) or have it printed in the US (though the only place I've seen that does passport-style photos from an image upload is Walmart.com).
