highlighting supporting documents on i-129f

Hello All,

I have a question, Is it advisable to highlight(in yellow ink) important details on the flight itineraries(names of passengers, the date, location), credit card statements (place and date of transaction) so its easier for the adjudicator to review our case? Some of our credit card statements have a lot of items that are not related to our proof of meeting and I'd like to make it easier for them to review our petition. Is this advisable because I have read somewhere that they scan our documents and it would cause issues? please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks!

all they look in the credit card transaction is that its under your name and place of use.  a flight intenerary is not proof of having met in person. Boarding pass is.

Uhh, not really the question I was asking, but thanks anyways.  I know flight itinerary isn't enough, and we do have passport stamps to support the flight itinerary which I think is more important than boarding pass(which we don't have anymore).

I think highlighting is a good idea.

I would mark/circles it with pen. On the USCIS site with tips how to prepare your petitions they say when they scan stuff it doesn’t catch highlighting.

thanks. But I feel like they are talking about the i-129f form itself.

You think they use different scanners to scan the petition form and different to scan supporting evidence? There is no reason to use highlighters when filling the form so I don’t know why this instruction would be related to the form only. But of course you are free to do what you think it’s best. I’m trying to answer your question and be helpful ;)

If you don’t have boarding passes be sure to include passport entry stamps as you said. They are good supporting evidence.

I remember I highlighted some stuff on tickets and itineraries myself when we were preparing our petition , but after reading this instructions I extra circled important info with pen. I believe they throw everything into one machine and scan as a one batch.

I highlighted things that needed to be pointed out and might not jump out noticeably otherwise.

on some things i just circled it, or wrote next to it, to make it stand out more

regardless, i did try to make it easy to see the information that they would want.
