Thanks, everybody! :) I just came back. The interview was supposed to last ninety minutes, it took five hours. The manager I talked to said it was a good sign :) Anyway, I think I did OK - they said I was the first one to answer certain questions correctly.

Now the waiting begins... and sending resumes out continues ;)

Good news and good luck with future applications, I am actually very scared about interviewing for a job when I arrive there, my last few have been in the security buisiness and I am not sure I have the people skills I need anymore.

Congrats!! Even if one doesnt get the job, always good to get more interview practice!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Feb 25, 2005 : Sent I-864 fee bill

Feb 28, 2005 : I-864 fee bill delivered to St Louis

Mar 3, 2005 : IV fee bill received

Mar 7, 2005 : Sent IV fee bill

Mar 9, 2005 : IV fee bill delivered to St Louis

Mar 28, 2005 : I-864 fee credited against case.

April 6, 2005 : Received I-864 package

April 7, 2005 : Immigrant Visa fee credited against case.

thats a good sign!! Show them how great of a worker u are, and display a great attitude and al lhopefully goes well. plus u get to see if you enjoy working there, win, win!

As far as I could tell, it went pretty good :) Tomorrow I start my one week long contract with the company - I probably should call it a third interview.
