Not sure CNN etc have covered either option.

Who cares?

Which plan would you prefer to pay for it. Or do you have an alternate?

According to the MSM we just need to ban military grade weapons...

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

So do nothing.

The anti gun lefties would rather schools be unsafe than come up with a solution that does not involve gun confiscation

They would rather the Korean peninsula remain at war, than admit Trump is finally getting something done.

So what is your proposal to pay for the added security at every school in the nation?

I realize people here aren't representative of some of the extremes in the media and internet but who has said they would rather the Korean peninsula remain at war? I haven't seen that opinion anywhere.

I really don't think finding the funding will be an issue....if people consider the priorities...I would gladly pay my share of a tax designed for that purpose....as long as everyone paid an equal share.

I am sure you pay more than your fair share for public schools if you live in Collin county, they do take money and distribute over the state for schools.  I suspect you pay around 6k to 10k per year just school tax

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

That's great. I'm just making sure we are all on the same page.

I wonder if everyone would so happily raise their taxes?

I guess that is what disturbs me most, the Agenda is more important than children's lives.

As has been said, FAR more schools to police than airports.  Then again, each school won’t require the contingent of people that an airport does.  But still, 100% of the burden would be on us, the taxpayers.

As for airport security, it’s a mix of funds.  Federal as well as local.  Airlines don’t pay for security directly, but they pay via gate costs, which are very high.  Just like education, nothing is free.  The airport must pay for the security of TSA, and they pass the cost on to the airline via gate fees, who then pass the cost on to us via fares.

A tough situation, to be sure.  If it were easy to solve, it would have been done already.  It will require a multi-faceted approach, and I am not sure it will ever be done well due to the large amount of guns in the US.  Of course, it’s always easy to armchair quarterback the situation from behind our keyboards; but I bet each and every one of us would feel differently if we lost a loved one due to something as senseless as a school shooting.

I always wondered how concerned TSA was with the long lines of people in the non-secure portion of the airport waiting to get through security and how they are proverbial sitting ducks.  I heard a few security folks talking about the same thing with schools.  If a big school is locked down to just a couple of key entrances and lines are long for students to get through some form of security, will a crazed attacker take advantage of that situation.

Well #Mancheter was a ort of related incident, effectively they are kicking the ball down the road.

I agree.  Seems that bad people do in fact change their tactics.
