In conversation sometimes people segue from talking about specific people to more general observations.

 

We don't know which he intended until after the fact when he clarified. It would have been better to use a pronoun to establish the subject.

Yep, so Nancy decided to jump on it and act like a fool.  I suppose the Dems haven’t really learned, Trump pretty much won based on illegal immigration and this type of pushback coming from one of the leaders of the Democratic Party along with the biased media just motivates his base more.

I agreed from the beginning it wasn't really news worthy or worth making a big deal about it.

 

But if you really want to look at what he said, it was ambiguous. He could have been talking specifically about MS13 or he could have heard her point and then wanted to make a broad general statement about people entering the country.

 

Because the only subject he used in his statement was "people" and he used no pronoun like "those" to reference her subject, he left it open to interpretation.

 

It's not a big deal though.
