Bringing wife's parents here in order to get her little sister here

Just tell your wife to get a job that has income enough to sponsor 3 people.

Once she does, file for parents and dependent child immediately.

If the 2 of you are living together with no kids currently, there's 2 people in household so $25975. Multiply that by 3 people being sponsored, so a job that pays $ 77925 per year.

Edit: Look at form I-864P for exact details if your household size is different.

She can’t file like that. IR beneficiaries can’t add derivatives.

also, you don’t understand the sponsorship guidelines, you don’t just multiply!  i-864p.pdf

It's the petitioner's sibling, not child. So the wait is ~15-20+ years.

Filing for the parents is fine. But that is in the immediate relative category of visas, which doesn't permit derivatives so their dependent child/children cannot come at the same time. As noted, she would need to petition the parents first and wait until they get a green card, then they can petition for their child and wait the 2+ years for that to go through...all while maintaining permanent residence within the US.

Umm my neighbor went through this.. that's exactly what the USCIS letter he showed me stated when he got an RFE.

Was easier for him though, he only sponsored his parents so it said multiply income requirement by 2 or if using assets, multiply by 5 for 1 person being sponsored.

Uh huh, so when you edited your post to add the link I was already busy posting (that you quoted) that shows the guidelines, you didn’t mean it?

think about it logically - a 2 bedroom apartment is one room more than a 1 bedroom, it’s not double the size and won’t require double the rent, same principle for energy used in heating/cooling and cooking, etc, anyway I already posted the link that you referred to with the actual requirements, whatever your neighbor got.

First of all, you forgot to state I edited it for ASSETS.

Second assets work fine. Like I put down down a condo instead of income as assets and USCIS had no problem with it since it was worth more than income would have been.

Either way now you're flaming me and that's not what I care to argue about.

I doubt many on here have Condos as investments.

What about adopting the Sister, then it's a child.

It doesn't work that way. You can adopt a child in accordance with local laws, but they only qualify for immigration benefits if a number of strict requirements are met to prevent people using adoption to bypass immigration laws. Living parents essentially makes this a non-option.

I’m sorry you think pointing out the official guidelines is flaming. So let me say politely that (a) OP cannot sponsor the 3 of them at once as you suggested for reasons already stated and (b) if OP were to sponsor 3 people the income requirement is not what you stated it to be.

You are wrong.

There is no way to add the sister as a derivative when the USC sister files for a parent.  NO POSSIBLE WAY.

Furthermore, going from a household of 2 to 4 does not double the income requirement or requires 5x in assets.  THIS IS NOT HOW TO CALCULATE THE REQUIRED INCOME.

It's not flaming you when SusieQQQ is correcting your errors which you keep insisting are right when they are all wrong.

My wife who is a citizen now wants to get her little sister here who is under 18. My questions are, what is the best way? File for her parents, bring them here and then they file for her to come? Or does my wife just file directly for her little sister?

My biggest question, if we bring her parents here, how long do they have to be here to file for her little sister, which is there daughter? So it would be a permanent residence file for their underage child basically. Is there a time limit? or as soon as they cross the gate, can they file for her?

Thanks for any answers you could provide

It will be best for the parents to file on behalf of their minor daughter (F2A visa category). They can submit her application the minute they have been approved. The entire process will take approximately 2 years.

I am in the process of filing for my minor child. I submitted my application nov 2016, received my noa2 april 2018 and hope for the entire process to be completed by nov 2018.

Really?  How can the sister be added as a derivative?

Please explain your post;

"Once she does, file for parents and dependent child immediately.."

How does she file for the "dependent child immediately?"
