So I figured I'd make a thread about this, see what others think - who live in PA. The PA primaries were this week, and some of them were quite important. The three biggest ones were;

1) Scott Wagner getting the GOP nomination for Governor to challenge Tom Wolf in November. My thoughts on this? I liked Paul Mango a lot, and was disappointed he fell short. I think it's just handed re-election to Tom Wolf.

2) Lou Barletta defeats Jim Christiana to challenge Bob Casey for his Senate seat. I think Casey may struggle with this one in November. Apart from a few counties in PA, Barletta swept Christiana aside. He's a Trump republican, and Trump won PA in 2016. Central Pennsylvania could win this one for Barletta in November.

3) John Fetterman defeats the incumbent Mike Stack for the Lt. Governor seat. Not a fan of John Fetterman, too liberal for me. Not a fan of Tom Wolf, too liberal for me - but I think they'll win in November.

Anyone else been following the primaries in PA? A lot of people think they'll shape the midterms in November.

I have followed the primaries in NC quite a bit and I am not really surprised by the results so far.

The Pennsylvania ones came as no surprise to me either. One of the interesting things with these primaries is that the district maps have just been redrawn and they're VERY heavily favored towards Democrats.

That doesn't surprise me one bit at all. The Dems have tried to do this after NC redrew maps in 2016 and succeeded only for the General Assembly to redraw them into more heavily favored Republicans districts. Before I was in the HEAVILY Gerry mandered 12th district in NC that was primarily 80-90% minority that literally stretched like a snake down the I-85 highway.

Gerrymandering is killing democracy. The new district maps in PA are a joke, Republicans don't stand a chance.

True that. But both sides are the ones killing it not just one side at all. They actually came out with a map what the districts should look like and both sides pretty much said NOPE.

Oh yeah, both sides are guilty - just from my perspective in PA, I'm going off this new district map. But yeah, both sides are guilty of it.
